Summary
Being kidnapped by aliens and whisked away to another planet isn't always a bad thing . . .
Meg isn't like the other alien abduction survivors. She doesn't miss much of anything from her former life—least of all her deadbeat husband. Her Clecanian rescuers gave her a fresh start, and she plans to enjoy it. Being recognized as a mate is not on her agenda. Too bad a grumpy, possessive, and all-kinds-of-sexy alien has other plans for her . . .
Maxu never expected to find his fated mate. But he recognized Meg at first sight. Sadly, she's not as pleased with the match as he is. She's guarded in a way he doesn't entirely understand and pushes him away at every turn.
Meg can run, but she soon realizes there's nowhere to hide—not from a hunter like Maxu. But that doesn't mean she'll give in easily. If he wants a happily ever after with her, he'll have to fight for it.
Good thing he's not above playing dirty.

Another winner
an excellent story aided and abetted by a brilliant narrator, this series continues to engage, would strongly recommend that the series is read/ listened too in order to give context and to follow a subplot that runs through the series - can't wait for the next

Wtf was that ending...
Book 6 in the Clecanian series. I finally reached an unread book of the series after spending the last few weeks rereading books 1-5 and this didn't disappoint. Once again the world building was great and not too heavy but we got enough new places and people to keep the story moving forward.
This follows Meg who has never really been upset about being on Clecania like the other human women have as thanks to being abducted she has escaped a life from a small town, extremely religious parents and a deadbeat husband she was forced to marry after said religious parents found out she had slept with him at 17. Since arriving on Clecania she has immersed herself in her new world as best she can, learning to read the language as well as speak it and is the first to volunteer to go on the world tour the Queen suggests some of the human women take part in to hopefully help ease tension politically for her so all forms of Clecanians can meet humans whilst the possibility of upping Earth's classification within the solar system is discussed.
Maxu is Theo, Luka, & Auzed's brother, he has done all he can to avoid being eligible for the marriage ceremonies as his Traxian side struggles with letting his wife go at the end of the 3 months, so when he gets nothing but the scent and a quick glimpse of a human woman leaving for the tour and his mating marks instantly appear no-one is more surprised than he is. Because of her experiences on earth to say Meg is reluctant to have a mate is an understatement and there were times her actions towards Maxu because of this really irritated me, so much so that even by the end of the book I still wasn't fully warmed up to her character, what helped some is that I very much got Brat & Brat Tamer vibes from Meg & Maxu, it wasn't as fully explored as it could have been but there were definitely elements of that kind of dynamic there.
I can't say much more without giving major spoilers and I refuse to do that, so what I will say is the last few chapters of this book were some of the best of the series and made me incredibly excited to see where book 7 is going to go, I hope the momentum carries forward into the next book and we get more of what those last few chapters gave. Stephen Dexter narrates and was perfect as always, I honestly don't miss having an accompanying narrator for the female parts as he does such an incredible job telling these stories. 🌶🌶

Great alien romance
Love this series
It was interesting to find someone that resisted the Clecanian ways and cleverly did something about it, even if jist to himself. I loved that they went to so many different places and we got to see the different cultures in that planet. I also liked the Sapphic rep here.
Cant wait for Rhaego's story.
Great narration too.

Loved it
Another fantastic addition to the series. I loved both Meg and Maxu and their unique story. I also really enjoy the storyline that has continued from Jade and Theo's story right the way through the series. I can't wait for the next installment to come out on Audible as I do love this narrator. If I could give this book six stars I definitely would!
