About this listen
Marriage was her only means of escape...
Though Honora Tannach came of age amid the misty moors of the Scottish highlands, where warring clans battled to the death for the future of their wild land, nothing frightens her so much as a lifetime trapped in the castle of her cruel stepfather.
She is thrilled when a marriage is arranged to the son of a Scottish laird...until her betrothed is revealed to be Cavan Sinclare. Though the savage warrior once saved her life, Honora knows no one can tame the heart of such a brute, no matter now finely chiseled his features or how enticing his eyes...
After escaping his captors, Cavan's only concern is protecting his clan from the menacing invaders who threaten at every turn - and his beautiful wife is a dangerous distraction. But in the face of fiery passion, their reluctance will fade...and Cavan will discover that there is no greater strength than the power of true love.

definitely worth a read
I liked it.
It was interesting, somewhat different & entertaining.
I like also that both MC did grow & show progression throughout the story.
I did think that Cavan was a bit unnecessarily cruel at times & the whole blaming the victim did leave a sour taste, which did mean that I wasn't enthralled with his character, but Honora was a brave soul who saw past his misgivings!
TBH, I'm still a bit baffled about the villains' motivations as it all seemed ridiculously convoluted, which made it nonsensical... there were easier & quicker ways to achieve their end goal... but aside from that & the villain's daughter's fate... which wasn't specified, I did enjoy the book!

Good story
I am enjoying all of the series. I love the male narrator, but the women narrators sound simple and dozy. Spoilt it for me.

Nice enough a story, but heavily diluted....
Lots of "stating of the obvious" in a story that could be much more fluent. It is sadly the price you have to pay for the lengths rather than content of the novel. I felt sometimes if this was written for children with all the chewing over the already well defined, however the steamy love scenes state the opposite.
Good narration with true Scottish burr, only very occasionally one can tell the slight American influence.
