About this listen
Sunshine, crisp white wine, and a sizzling Italian. Nothing could go wrong with some holiday fun...could it?
When 30-year-old Kate’s childhood sweetheart dumps her without a goodbye, she almost hits rock bottom. But she’s determined to have a fresh start and goes to Italy’s stunning capital city in search of healing. Hot sun, fresh coffee and white marble piazzas; here, Kate might be able to put herself back together. But when a glass (or three) more wine than is strictly necessary leads to questioning by a concerned policeman - a tall, Italian policeman, with wavy, black hair and cheekbones to die for - she knows she’s in trouble.
Kate and Alessandro have a spark so big you couldn’t put it out with a fire extinguisher. But Alessandro has five meddling sisters, a fearsome mama and a very beautiful ex. They’re all certain Kate isn’t the girl for him. Kate knows it’s just a holiday fling. Besides, there’s too much against them. Hoping for more would just mean getting her heart broken again. Wouldn’t it?

A LOVELY LISTEN 3 🌟🌟🌟
🚨🚨TRIGGER WARNING FOR PREGNANCY LOSS 🚨🚨,
This was a nice listen about siblings Kate, her older sister Anne and their younger sister Lilly. This book kept my attention from start to finish.
This is the second Tilly Tennant book I have listened too and I have enjoyed both books.
The story was lovely and romantic about falling in love in Rome Italy, was it a holiday romance or the real deal??? Kate's sister's definitely have an opinion.
The narrator did her job okay with accents but she didn't voice male characters very well!
I loved the chapter about the Sunday Roast, it was hilarious😂
I am lucky this book was FREE to listen too through the Plus Catalogue included membership and I do recommend it 🌠

4☆ A Delightful Romance
Rome is Where the heart is, is a Heart-warming romance/ rom com.
I've never been to Italy but it was a joy to be whisked off to Rome with Kate.
After a divorce Kate decides to jet set off to Rome alone.
It's here she makes new friends, falls in love and starts a new journey of self discovery and adventures.
I have to add a trigger warning of miscarriage and mental health. It features quiet a bit in the later half of the book, which some readers may find difficult.
I love the Witty humour and the mishaps Kate finds herself in, especially at the hands of Justin the loveable rouge.
I absolutely loved the passion and friendship between Kate and Alessandro, I was routing for them the whole way through.
Overall this is a delightful story, that warmed my heart and had me giggling.
I do hope there is another instalment as I want to see what's next for Kate and Alessandro!
The narrating was perfect, I loved how the narrator bought the characters to life. Making it fully engaging, easy to listen to and a joy.

Inoffensive
The story was overall OK. Narration was tinny at times. The accents were good. The Italians knew too much English, especially manchester colloquialisms. The chapter towards the end around the table at Sunday lunch was excruciating. It was far too long. Tbh the book could have been half the length! But all that said I'd listen to the follow up. but only if it was free. If I'd have paid for this I'd have been returning it
