Summary
***Now with revised content!***
I wasn't the type of girl who believed in fairytales, much less tales about faeries, but that changed the day the fae walked into my life. Staying away from my lakeside hometown was the plan, but Mom died suddenly. Dad said she suffered a stroke after she dug up one of the ancient Native American graves in our backyard. Creepy, I know. Creepier still, there was no corpse inside the old coffin, only fresh rose petals.
As we made preparations for her burial, unnervingly odd and beautiful newcomers poured into my small town. A coroner with emerald eyes and black hair, much too young for the job. An arrogant blond socialite, who lived to get under my skin. And a tattooed Native man, who wasn’t supposed to be alive.
By dying, my mother had inadvertently revived an age-old feud between the fae and the tribe that hunted them. A feud that was about to tear my world apart.
Download today to start listening to this paranormal adventure that listeners are comparing to The Vampire Diaries...but with faeries.

Unique twist on a Fae series!
Rose Petal Graves is the first in Olivia's fae series and it begins with a bang. Olivia really knows how to write such amazing stories with astounding detail and precision that I honestly couldn't pick favourite loving them all equally. I have to say when I found out that Kasi Hollowell was narrating the newer versions of this story I was so excited because she is my favourite audio narrator, I could listen to her voice reading stories all day, add in Tim Campbell's voice and he entire experience was amazing.
Catori Price, is of Gottwa descent though she doesn't really care very much about her heritage. Disaster strikes as she finds out about her mother's death and must return home for the funeral. However, as soon as she learns the full story she knows that something isn't quite right as since she is training to become a doctor her medical knowledge only makes her suspicions worse. So she returns to her home town of Rowan, to her childhood home next to a cemetery but not all is as it seems.
In walks Cruz Vega, the attractive medical examiner here to discern the cause of her mother's death ... or is he? Cruz is not all he seems to be and his rich celebrity friends the Woods are no different. Catori immediately feels an attraction towards him due to his kind, caring nature and his good looks don't hurt. But Cruz Vega is also technically unavailable since he is engaged to Lily Wood. And her brother Ace is such an arrogant, cocky guy full on confidence and charm immediately makes her hackles rise and sets her blood boiling in his presence. So begins the love triangle though Catrori is very good at making out like Ace isn't in the running but he so is. But these visitors to Rowan are not all they appear, they're not even human!
As if the death of her mother, the arrival of Cruz, Ace and Lily and another tragic event isn't enough she also has to contend with ... dead relatives rising from their graves? Catori begins to learn that there is so much more to Rowan than she first thought. Fae are real and she is descended from a long line of faerie hunters who buried themselves alive to escape the Fae who wanted them dead. And what's with all the rose petals and why is everyone so concerned about a book sent to Catori from an unknown person?
There are endless twists and turns in this book and just when you think you have the rest of the plot figured out everything changes! The audio voice in this book is simply amazing and she really made the book come alive doing both male and female parts and now I can't think about the book without thinking in those voices. A great book well worth a listen or a read whichever you fancy.

I liked this for the most part.
Interesting take on the fae. I did like it but found it quite sad and unsettling at times. I will likely read the next book but feel the need to read something else in between books. This is not my usual style of reading, I usually prefer to read a complete series before starting something new. But the need to have a break in this series is strong.

Amazing!
Firstly, thank you so much to Olivia Wildenstein for the free audio copy of this book!
This was one of the best books I read in 2021, so I was very excited to revisit it in this stunning, newly revised version. Rose Petal Graves is an extremely atmospheric book with similar vibes to The Vampire Diaries and has an entirely unique take on the fae. The romance is absolutely flawless and is definitely a highlight of the book for me.
The narration is absolutely beautiful and I enjoyed every minute of this audiobook! I look forward to listening to the revised version of book two!
I highly recommend this book to fans of romantasy who are looking for an engaging contemporary fantasy series to read!

By: Olivia Wildenstein
Audiobook 🎧 Narrated by: Kasi Hollowell, Tim Campbell
Length: 10 hrs and 35 mins
This book has been re-edited and updated. This is an updated version of the audiobook and my review.🎧🥀
Catori Price comes home to her small town of Rowan after her mother dies suddenly & unexpectedly!😢 The family home is on the grounds of Rowan's Cemetery with her own Ancestors, the Gottwa Clan, actually being buried at its centre surrounded by Rowan Tree's!🌳 Her Parents ran their funeral business from the basement.
After arriving from college in Boston to Rowan, her lifelong best friend, Blake, helps her retrieve her Dad from his Nan's bar. He's drank himself to sleep! As they pull up at her house, she sees a tall man with black hair standing beside a car. Blake takes her father in & she discovers the man is Cruz Mason, the medical examiner. He's there to autopsy her Mum 😱😳 Blake, who's been in love with Cat ever since he understood what love was, isn't too happy seeing the handsome man that's going to be spending so much time with his Cat!!💔
There is a fast growing connection between Cat & Cruz over the following days. He begins to enlighten her to the magical world that surrounds her & that killed her mother!😢 As reluctant as she is to hear about it, a book that was delivered after her mum died, confirms the things she's seeing, and that he's telling her! By then, she's met Gwenelda & learns she's one of her buried ancestors returned 😱
It comes to light that her mum actually dug up Gwenelda's casket. Her & Cruz had seen it in the basement full of rose petals! In doing so and then saying a spell, her mum actually gave her life force to Gwen, and that's how she was brought back. Her mum nor Gwen knew this would happen, and Gwen could do nothing to stop it anyway, but Cat hates her for it regardless!! 😡 She swears she won't allow her to bring anymore of the remaining eleven ancestors back!!🙏 She now knows Gwen & Cruz are enemies - Gwen's a Faehunter and he's a Fae 😱✨ She turns to him for emotional support & advice even more and it eventually leads to a smoking hot kiss - Literally🔥🔥 It then emerges, through his annoying friend Ace, that Cruz is in fact engaged to Ace's sister!!😱💔 She feels betrayed & very hurt. Blake is extremely disgruntled by her behaviour & makes his feelings known to her.
Due to some awful, heartbreaking circumstances, Gwen brings another Ancestor back, His name is Kajika. But she's lied to by the faeries again when they tell her who it is that Gwen brought back! To her, they're all as bad as each other!! She wishes she was still ignorant of it all. She needs for her Dad, Aunt & cousins to be safe though!
This story's Faehunter Clan, The Gottwas, is inspired by Native American people & their lore. It is woven into human history and then cleverly the Fae history is woven through both beautifully!! The 'world' that the author is depicting is fascinating as well as quite captivating. I'll warn you now that I cried a few times reading this book. Not just because of the deaths but because of the emotional depths that were torn from the characters too 😭😭 Its not a particularly sad or dark book but it's very emotive, the Author played my heart like a darn fiddle!😂
I thoroughly enjoyed 'bad boy' Ace, I found him quite endearing in the end and really hope he ends up being one of the most trustworthy people Cat can turn to, no matter what!!🍀 The love triangle in this book is fierce. I liked both of the love interests but Cruz in Boston? Yeah, I wanted to throat punch the douchbag!!😡 They've both got their good & bad points, but they both know how to smoulder 😉
I can't wait for book #2 to find out more🎉🔥🍀✨🌳
