Summary
Grieving the death of his partner, Theo Bosco has no room in his life for distractions. Though his instincts scream that he should avoid Juliet "Jules" Jackson, he can't seem to stay away. It doesn't help that Theo's new K9 companion has fallen head over paws with Jules's rambunctious family.
Or that when he's with her, Theo finally knows peace.
When Jules rescued her siblings, whisking them away to the safety of the beautifully rugged Colorado Rockies, she never expected to catch the eye - or the heart - of a cop. Yet as Jules struggles to fight her growing attraction to the brooding K9 officer, another threat lurks much closer to home...
And this time, there's no escape.

Very enjoyable
Katie Ruggle always writes very interesting and intriguing stories and this is another story that will have you hooked from the start.
This is book 1 in the series and begins with Theo and Jule's romance.
Theo is a cop and he is grieving the death of his partner and mentor Don ,he has become guilt ridden and moody..He has also been assigned to his partners K9 Viggy who is also pining for his owner and so Theo can't control him.Theo has become dead inside until a beautiful new waitress comes into town surrounded by mystery, and begins to bring him back to life.
Jules is harbouring a huge secret she is on the run with her younger brothers and sister who she has practically kidnapped.
Jules had to get them out of the situation they were in at home and her only option was to take them far away from the abuse they were experiencing.
A small remote town seemed like a good idea at the time, that is until she becomes friendly with gorgeously handsome cop Theo...He had effortlessly along with is dog Viggy inserted themselves into her life. Her siblings had fallen in love with Viggy, who seems to love being around this new family in town.
Spending time together Theo and Jules try to fight their attraction from eachother which is useless because they can't stay away from one another.
But with Jule's secret hanging over her and her relationship with Theo it may be her downfall as there is an unexpected threat looming that Jules and Theo could not anticipate.
I enjoyed listening to this story narrated by Callie Beaulieu who does such an Amazing job at acting out all characters in this book.
Her talent amazed me and I thought Callie was brilliant.
This is a slow burn romance which Katie Ruggle is an expert at,but I honestly didn't feel the book was lacking just because there was very little steam.
I loved and enjoyed it very much.
Its such a fantastic Audiobook.

new author....good listen
Good story with lovely characters. No cliff hanger ending as such but the story carries over to the next book. Not sure that is out yet so have to wait. Worth trying though.

great book.
Would you consider the audio edition of Run to Ground to be better than the print version?
I have only ever read the audio book so can't compare.
What other book might you compare Run to Ground to, and why?
I would compare it to most crime novels I have read, it had a bit of everything including romantic suspense and action.
What does Callie Beaulieu bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
She was a really good reader and gave each character there own voice and personality.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Jules and Theo finally decided to give things a go between them. Also the way Jules was with sam after he'd caught her and Theo.
Any additional comments?
Fantastic book and looking forward to the next one.

A really enjoyable read
What made the experience of listening to Run to Ground the most enjoyable?
The whole of it. The story firstly being the most important part of course. The reader had an empathetic voice. I had just discovered another series by this author that I enjoyed, so I was keen to see if the standard transferred to the new series, it did. I am now eagerly awaiting the next book in this series.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Run to Ground?
The interaction between Sam-I-Am and Ju Ju after he discovers her kissing Theo. The whole relationships with the siblings and the dog, there are so many I do not know how many to catalogue.
What about Callie Beaulieu’s performance did you like?
The reader has a pleasant voice which conveys the emotions of the characters well. The narrator's voice is so important as it can make or break an audio book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. I rationed myself though as I had other things to do.
Any additional comments?
I hope that the next book in this series will also be on Audible as I so enjoy listening to books this way.

Too much romance, not enough suspense
I don't think this book is really aimed at me. Inbetween heavier or more experimental novels and a lot of non-fiction, I look for lighter, contemporary stuff that will stop me going going round the bend during tedious chores. But this novel is really too light and lacking in interest, although the narrator is very good.
The book also bears signs of an inexperienced writer, or a lack of editing: slow pacing; overwritten scenes; odd, unsignalled changes; uncertain POV in places; disappearing injuries; improbable psychological motivation; clichéd dialogue; and some weird lapses in K9 protocols. On the plus side, interesting characters and an intriguing backstory, though left undeveloped.

What a waste of a credit
This book was awful. There is nothing good I can say about it. I will not listen to anymore in this series.
