Summary
Stacey Evans wants only one thing: to be the best alpine ski racer she can be. Everything else—like her sweet and ultra-supportive best friend and hot-but-vapid girlfriend—is just a bonus. Fresh from a medal at her first Olympics, Stacey knows she can only get better and is firmly focused on the future, and totally not thinking about how she’s kind of a little in love with that sweet, ultra-supportive best friend....
Gemma Archer has had a crush on Stacey from the moment she first saw her, but being her best friend is so amazing that she’s almost managed to push that crush aside. Almost. But even if Gemma finds the courage to tell Stacey how she really feels, there’s a mountain of obstacles to overcome—like the fact Gemma’s stepmom is Stacey’s coach (awkward) and Gemma will be going away to college in a few months. And most importantly...what if admitting how she feels ruins the best friendship she’s ever had?
Schuss brings back two beloved side characters from E. J. Noyes’ best-selling, award-winning novel Gold.

Great sequel
The perfect sequel to an amazing book. And the narrator is awesome as always.

Sweet story
Loved the story , but found the voices confusing . Aspen & Kate’s voice had changed completely , but Gemma & Stacey’s story is a sweet slow burner. Enjoyed it

Didn't quite hit the mark...
If I'd listened to this book first, I don't think I'd have been so interested in her other books to be honest. This one was just not quite there for me. (And seeing as I have every other one of her books, I know she has hit every one of them out of the park!) I try not to do spoilers but it has to be said that although Abby Craden does amazing voices and she's by far my favourite narrator, Aspen and Katherine's voices were back to front in this book which totally threw me while listening! (Totally not Abby's fault, she reads as shes directed and i think if E J Noyes had used a different narrator it wouldn't have worked at all ) It was a good solid story with plenty of ties to Gold, but not so much in the way a really good book grips you from the start. Still definitely worth a credit! xxx 💗 xxx

Lovely!
A true feel good. Picks up where Gold ends but focuses on Aspens stepdaughter and protégée who are best friends.

A beautiful & sweet sequal to Gold!
I really enjoyed this book. It was a brilliant sequal to Gold and I adored following Gemma & Stacey's journey as they entered adulthood. If you're looking for a super sweet story, full of skiing and love, then this is for you.
This is E.J's first 'new adult' book (I think), but it didn't feel juvenile at all. It felt like a perfect continuation for two fantastic supporting characters, as their story stepped into the spotlight. It was a truly lovely story, full of well rounded characters that feel like real people. You can feel the love and care they have for each other dripping from every page.
I love Abby Craden, but I was disappointed slightly with the narration for this book. This may be because I listened to Gold before listening to this story, but I noticed big changes in the way Abby portrayed Aspen & Kate. In this book, Aspen's voice sounded like Kate's (in Gold) and Kate's voice sounded like the family friends (in Gold). It was jarring and sometimes I got confused as to who was talking.

Great story, but...
The young adult story was super cute, and I loved knowing about Gemma and Stacie from EJ Noyes 'Gold'. I pretty much loved it all, unfortunately I couldn't get used to Aspens voice. I listened to Gold just beforehand to get myself into the mood, and then Aspens voice in this book changed dramatically and sounded more like Kate, and Kate sounded like one of the friends Dani or Mel. So that wasn't great, and ruined it slightly for me.
