In some ways an eye opener, a great listening, but...
I particularly like the stories from cities I have visited and recognising the scams being told here which I experienced in many other shapes when visiting, not personally, but still the set ups are visible.
But, I was not happy to hear the part from Jerusalem, in my opinion it shows an almost Anti-Semitic view you the author. Being able to almost forgive many hard core criminals around the globe with exception of fake art dealers in Israel and describing the country as the worst experience the author had anywhere, shows a clear dislike of the locals and opposite felling about the surrounding countries ‘loosing their cultural heritage’. I think the author purposely ignores the fact that the people having border checks are the very same people daily reminded by the surrounding countries that these countries want the Israel population to die. Personal political views are ok, and so is anyone’s opinion towards them.
Having mentioned that a very likeable story and I look forward to read more from this author.
Great book.

Decent but a bit shallow
I understand he put himself in harms way but it's a very shallow book. Scant on depth and dips, just dips, into separate scams. Would have been better for him to get more examples.

A travellers handbook
For those people who travel regularly this book is ideal. An in depth look into scams that target tourist specifically and how much money can be stolen or scammed from you. CW is a man who purposely gets into the situations to find out more about them and interview them to get the reasons to why it is done, who organises it and how it’s works. Despite getting guns drawn on him multiple times he shows you how to best avoid these scams which could take your life and what to look out for to avoid them. Great book and had me not wanting to stop listening. Highly recommend for a great listen!
