The book itself is a candid, sort of half self-help, half autobiography and includes an amalgamation of great self-help tips, to help with a variety of issues that affect everyone’s lives. I must admit, I skipped sections of the book (including menopause and breast cancer etc) because, as a man, it felt inapplicable. I admit I’m definitely not the target demographic, yet the book was - perhaps justifiably - centred around females (and older ones at that); men and boys etc are mentioned, yet the word is usually tacked onto an issue that is spoken of that is equally applicable to females AND males.
The book was very good, in all aspects, yet I feel it let itself down with the unilateral female centricity, and felt that it wasn’t necessarily helpful to me in all aspects due to this (however some things were all-encompassing), when it really could’ve (and, perhaps, should’ve) been — however this may be an isolated issue because of my gender.
A female self-help book, with interspersed autobiographical detail
