Summary

If you win the bet, we’ll let you disappear. If you lose, you’ll be trapped on stage forever.

Charlie

I'm definitely straight, but when rock god Eli Steele offers me the opportunity of a lifetime in exchange for being his fake husband for a year, I can't say no. That's how I find myself sharing a bed - and more than a few kisses - with the lead singer of Blood Money. All I have to do is stay focused on my work and pretend to be in love with him. Easy, right?

Eli

I took a stupid f--king bet, and now, I have to convince Charlie to fall for me without using mind control. He's straight, but the bigger problem is that he's human, and I'm not. Once he finds out I'm really a vampire, will he be able to look past my fangs and see what's in my heart?

Not what I hoped for...

I'm a bit disappointed, because I LOVED reading this book and I was really excited for the audio, but sadly, it was't as enjoyable as I wanted it to be.

The narrator's voice wasn't great for me and I couldn't get into the story this time - and it was so slow! I usually listen to audios on 1,3 - 1,5 x speed, but I had to pick 1,7- 1,8 this time, it was that slow!

The story itself is amazing, I love it, but the audio wasn't for me this time, sorry.

Rockstar Vampire with a fake 'stragith' husband? Best thing ever.

It was sweet and light while romantic and hot too. Loved Charlie and Eli. The best thing was that Charlie was a so sweet fanboy, I loved their first encounter, it was adorable.

Liked the whole vampire thing and that everyone in the band was vampire. I love rockstar romances and it was good to see the band on the tour, on the bus. And it was both sweet and hilarious that Eli forgot to buy food for Charlie. You think that Eli is the badass rockstar, but when it comes to Charlie he is such a marshmallow. I loved their relationship, it was both instalove and slow burn at the same time (don't ask how, it just was).

Charlie was so adorable on his way to gayness and the romance between him and Eli was so good.

Very good start to the series...

Overall 4.25 Stars
Narrator 4.5 Stars
Story 4 Stars

I really liked Charlie, he was a lovely character. I enjoyed that there wasn't all that much angst with the way he jumped into a relationship with Eli. I liked Eli, but there were some times where I wished he acted differently with Charlie. I get that he'd lost a human lover before, but it was a bit tiring to hear about Tom over and over again. Still, they did have a lot of chemistry and were hot together, which is always a plus.

The story felt a bit rushed, especially near the end, and I wished that the vampire-reveal portion of the story had been a bit more fleshed out. The audiobook was fast-paced and due to its length, a bit insta, but it was still entertaining.

Andrew Morrison truly took me by surprise by how good his performance was. His voice was really pleasant and he really brought all the characters to life for me. This is definitely an audiobook I have no trouble recommending.

interesting story

I found the plot very interesting and I really liked how vampires were portrayed in the book . The chemistry between Eli and Charlie was amazing and I loved how their relationship evolved. The ending was very very satisfying. I just wish the book was longer, I wanted more backstory and more scenes where Eli and Charlie got to know each other. I also liked how the narrator voiced the characters. Especially Eli, great accent.
