About this listen
For more than twenty years, Kelsey Grammar played the brilliant but fussy psychiatrist Frasier Crane, first on Cheers, then on the wildly successful spinoff, Frasier. During those two decades, Grammer received 17 Emmy nominations, winning four as the psychiatrist-turned-radio host and another one for providing the voice of Sideshow Bob on yet another television classic, The Simpsons.
In So Far..., Grammar recounts his life and career in a frank and moving autobiography, covering his tragic family life—the murder of his father and sister and the deaths of his two half-brothers—as well as addictions to alcohol and drugs, that became public. And of course, Grammar discusses his association with three of the most beloved series of all time.

A cracking find
Yes it’s a bit dated now but even up until the end of the book Kelsey had lead quite the life. His voice is of course perfect as the narrator for many reasons. We listened to it while on an RV holiday in the US and it made one incredibly boring stretch of road fantastic. Yes he’s witty, but the book isn’t comical. Hearing him speak about his sister is heartbreaking. I hope he’s found peace.

Unmistakably Kelsey
From Frasier to Boss to sideshow bob, there's no one more distinguishable than Kelsey Grammer. Hearing the inaccuracies exposed that were reported in the press and stated on the internet, along with the hard truthes of his tragic life, read by the man himself is as warm and comforting as a hot bath in the dead of winter. Yet the experience is intensified by the high quality prose of 'so far'.
Would recomend it highly to anyone, and would willingly forgo any luxury of value to purchase this audiobook.

Selfish or honest?
I loved the insight into Kelsey's life. A few people have criticised not mentioning the Simpsons but the book is more about his personal struggles. He often mentions people who assisted him and the luck of a lot of his success. Worth a read or listen!

A Beautiful Narration.
An amazing man with a amazing voice, just perfect for an audio book version.
Although some may question his morals in certain areas of his life, with most being based on false opinion, this man has lived a life that few could imagine in the good ways and bad.
You just can not get away from his most beautiful charm. One of life’s truly enigmatic characters, well worth a listen.

Amazing man through so much sadness
Great book. Loved listening to it by the author. Very sad life but made a star in the end. But I would never of forgiven the bitch that lost moose. That is unforgivable and I’d of got rid of her right there and then

Very interesting.
While I did enjoy this I would have liked a little more depth about situations. Well read.

Not Frasier Crane
Kelsey Grammer is a fantastic actor and so, as expected the performance is flawless. Listening to him speak is soothing and he delivers the content well. I wish I could have said I enjoyed the story but sadly I cannot - his story paints the picture of a deeply troubled person, but rather than sympathy, I was left feeling sad for the people left in his wake, blaming everyone else for his poor decisions and terrible attitude and skipping over most of the things listeners might be interested in hearing. He eventually admits some of his mistakes but makes no apologies. A man who thinks rules do not apply to him and that the world (and everyone else) owes him. Perhaps this could be taken as unadulterated honesty but one thing is true… This man is Not Frasier Crane.
