About this listen
He is a predator, and I am his prey....
Prey: The Rabbit
Mark Fenton, assistant to the mayor, never regretted opening his mouth more than he did when he insulted Madam Winters’ establishment, the Courtesan Hotel. Now he’s being sold off for a night in the summer auction. It’s small comfort that part of the proceeds benefit charity. The man who buys Mark’s time, Camden, is wild and unruly. He’s not Mark’s type, from his giant body to his rough nature, but the more time Mark spends with Camden, the more he finds himself having fun.
Predator: The Wolf
Camden Wolf knows what he likes - redheads who want to be pursued - and Mark appears to be exactly that. When Madam Winters tells Camden about the feisty man she has ready for the auction block, he can’t resist putting a claim on Mark. Chasing him has Camden’s inner primal nature excited, and he can’t get enough of Mark. But as much as they are having fun, Mark is skittish.
Attack and Capture
Mark fits into Camden’s life like a missing puzzle piece, and Camden’s daughters and his best friend/ex-wife love Mark. But convincing him they can have a future is difficult, especially when all Mark wants to do is run away in fear. Luckily Camden is the kind of man who loves a challenge, and he has plans to make Mark his in every single way.

Unique story, and a smoking hot romance
Primal Play is a side of BDSM that I know very little about, and it’s definitely intriguing. Ki Brightly and M.D. Gregory explore this tantalizing kink in Sold for the Night.
This is only my second book centered around the auctions at the Courtesan Hotel, but I’m already hoping for a whole lot more of Madam Winters’ story. (One in which she gets her well deserved comeuppance!) This unprincipled cupid, tricking people into these situations, and justifying her actions as “in the name of love”, this woman’s got quite a nerve.
Told from both sides, we get Mark’s insights as a novice (and initially unwilling) participant. Getting way more than he’d planned for, Mark is quickly won over by his response to the eroticism of Primal Play. But it’s the sweet, affectionate side of Cam which really brings this relationship to life.
Cam is a straight shooter, and I admired his behavior throughout the entire story. He’s misled into thinking Mark wants what he’s offering, and the way the authors explore this whole aspect of the storyline is beautifully done.
Mark ends up finding love, but he also discovers an inner strength he never knew he possessed. Standing up for himself. Doing his best to hold the Madam accountable for her actions. And securing a resolution that he and Cam can live with..., my hat’s off to Mark!
Ki Brightly and M.D. Gregory always write crazy hot erotica. Raw and edgy, I loved the pure and honest interactions between Mark and Cam. It starts out playful, but the result is an enviable intimacy. I can definitely see the appeal of Primal Play.

Primal Play…something I didn’t know I needed
I would absolutely recommend this and all the others in the series!
Firstly, I haven’t ever read anything with primal play and oh boy was I missing out. There are a couple of potential triggers, although I don’t want to say what, they didn’t bother me and I adored this book! Before I read Sold for the Night I hadn’t really had much of an opinion on Mark, but by the end of Cuffed I was desperate to hear about Mark.
Now Camden was a new one, I loved him! His whole attitude and personality just 👌👌
I adored seeing more of baby boy Max, and seeing how he was fitting in better and how people where making an effort to give him a chance etc💕
Slight spoiler!!!
I wasn’t sure about the ‘cage scene’ at first but it grew on me.

Light and Darkness
The beginning of this story is a bit dark, as Mark is put in a bad position by being rather forced to participate in the auction. Cam wins the bidding, but doesn't know the entire story. Once they understand each other, their relationship develops wonderfully in both the heat and caring departments and they make a wonderful couple. The side characters were all well developed and Cam's family including his ex, were wonderful. Particularly appreciate an ex who is not written as the bitter, villain of a story. Brightly and Gregory are on a roll with these last two stories involving auctions. Chris Boykin gives a great performance here. He captures Mark's initial feelings of pressure and reluctance and Cam's understanding when he finds out the real truth. After that, he lets us feel their growing understanding and attraction for each other.

Primal play
There's a lot of things I liked about this book but also many things I didn't like.
The book is about primal play, which is always good! I did expect a lot darker story. The story starts with non-con scene but the aftermath of that is totally unbelievable.
I liked the primal play scenes, but there was not enough talk about limits and consent beforehand.
Camden is a predator in bedroom but a family man in everyday life. The children were still unnecessary part of the story. I don't want kids in my kinky stories. I did like the easy relationship with Camden and the ex-wife though.
There was too many implausible things in the story. Like, how can someone be in love with a person if they didn't even bother to ask a phone number of address? And who leaves their kids to total stranger?
This book would've been better without the unnecessary stupid drama and focus in the kink instead.
This was the first ever book from this narrator and he did a good job for a newbie.

Big bad Wolf
I loved Mark and so glad he got his HEA (and loosened up a little).
Camden is fierce and totally alpha. I liked the power dynamics between the two and was interested in this new to me kink.
Mark and Cam just fit together and their chemistry is off the chats. Cam's family is adorable and I love how they all take to Mark
I agreed with Mark and disliked Madam Winter's methods, no matter how well they turned out!
Reasonably pleasant narration but a bit wooden or robotic at times. it took a little bit away from the passion in this story.
Great series and I can't wait to see what the author's come up with next for this unique world!!!

Very problematic plot
I went on as much as I could, trying to find something to enjoy but there was a point I gave up and DNFed it (which I hate to do, but I'm learning to accept that sometimes a book just isn't for me).
I had big problems with the plot since the beginning. Madam Winters is a horrible person, not to mention a criminal, and to have people in the book be okay with her doings is so so bad. The fact that in one single night she sold not one, but two people in her auction against their will was appalling. And the "reason" Mark was sold was ridiculous! And no one did anything to try and stop her!
Enters Camden, who was not aware of the situation, and buys Mark for the night. When Mark tries to run from him, he thinks it's part of the game and chases him, enjoying every part of it and not realizing Mark is actually terrified. Camden isn't at fault there, he really thought Mark was a consenting participant, but still, after the chase, when Mark asked him to stop, he stopped and that was great. So, I thought the book would improve and I was excited to see what would happen next.
Well, I was once again disappointed. Camden was upset for chasing Mark and felt bad for the way he was sold in the auction, but not bad enough to offer him support. No, what he offered was a night of rough $ex, which Mark accepted promptly. What? Just like that? After all that had just happened?
To make matters worse, the next morning we have a scene with Camden's ex-wife and his 2 kid daughters enjoying a nice cup of coffee with a semi-naked Mark, as if it was the most normal thing in the world to have a complete stranger at your dad's place, wearing nothing more than a robe.
The story goes on with other problems and Camden turns out to be a very irresponsible "predator". He shows what not to do in BDSM and kink-related exchanges - he doesn't explain to Mark how consent and safewords work, he doesn't communicate what exactly he wants to do to him, he doesn't even respect Mark's workplace.
The narration wasn't good either. It was so slow and there were long pauses between sentences. I might try another audiobook with this narrator though.
