Home truths come at a heavy price ...

ANOTHER GRIPPING NOVEL FROM BESTSELLING AUTHOR MICHELLE MCDONAGH

As her adoptive mother lays dying, journalist Cara Joyce overhears a shocking piece of information about her origins. It connects her to a tragic death - that of Lucia Casey, a young woman whose body was found buried in a Connemara bog nearly thirty years ago.

To this day, Lucia's disappearance and murder remains unsolved.

Cara's quest to find out the truth reunites her with the powerful Casey family. But as her obsession begins to take over her life, she finds herself increasingly at odds with those around her.

Who is behind Lucia's death and what are they hiding? And what will Cara risk in the present to solve the mysteries of the past?

Somebody Knows is a thrilling story of dangerous secrets and the lengths people will go to keep them.

a great pagturner ! couldn't stop listening

loved this story, the familiarity of galway was great aswell. the twist at the end really caught me. The sad thing about life in Ireland for women at that time is that this could've happened 😞

A lot to take in!

Having lost a parent to cancer quite recently, I found the start of the book tough to listen to!

I stuck with it and enjoyed it overall but I feel there were far too many characters. So much so, I kept having to go back and replay parts of the book to figure out who was who.

I also felt the twist at the end was totally unnecessary. It added nothing to the main storyline, in my opinion, and felt a little far-fetched.

I agree with a comment I read elsewhere that the constant mentions of war, covid, inflation, price hikes, cost of living crisis etc was a bit frustrating. I read to escape the doom and gloom of real life so I am always bothered when it appears in a book.

Overall, I would still give this 4 stars. I look forward to Michelle McDonagh's next book

The narration by Michelle Moran was excellent.

Brilliant storyline!

I said about the author’s previous book - best I’d listened to in a long time - this one is as good if not better! The story is totally believable, full of intrigue and clever enough you don’t guess the plot!

The narrator is brilliant, perfect for the story, I found myself laughing out loud when she came out with the typically Irish turns of phrase!

I await with bated breath any more books from this author, and hope the same lady narrates.

Buy this audiobook, I guarantee you will not be disappointed!

Complexity

Loved the thought process , jeez it had me going until the end , once you think you have figured it out there is another and another twist
Really enjoyed it , ironically enough I finished it today with Molly ( in the car ) not far away from Kylemore Abbey on way to Dogs Bay
