Fabulous adventure

I felt compelled to say that after my previous 2 books, All Quiet on the Western Front and The White Chrysanthemum, both well written and narrated but quite quiet different, I saw this in my library and it’s been a joy to lighten the mood. I am in my 6th decade but still enjoy some good escapist adventure and this book has it in spades, fast paced with lots of twists and turns, a genius hero and a proper baddie. The narration was good and I was able to see the scenes as if it was a film. My son is 30 but I’ll recommend he listens too.

Everything a good childrens book should be!

A beautifully written and beautifully read audio book.
An Arthur Ransome style children's book but with drones and terrorists.
This is a thrilling & gripping easy listen with a well constructed plot and interesting characters.
It is also suitable for young children as it has Arthur Ransome style innocence (no romance or gory violence).

Riveting adventure.

Exciting, very well constructed and well read story. Interesting characters , a very likeable hero and overall, pretty much faultless. For older children and young at heart adults.

Fantastic adventure my kids loved it.

Really captures the Cumbrian Lake District that the adventure is set within in a new and exciting way. Also really delivers with a cracking story and a mystery to solve. It just keeps you wanting more. My year 7 and year 9 both devoured this and are hoping for a follow up adventure for Tom.
