The Voice
I've never written a review before but this performance by the narrator was so poor I felt the need to warn others. I bought this to entertain myself and my fiancée on a long car journey and as it was late in the evening I bought it without listening to the sample. Never again. If you do not heed my review and listen to her in the sample and buy it because you think she sounds great then wonderful! At least take my advice away with you and always, always listen to the sample.
In my opinion the narrator's voice is robotic and sounds like someone who speaks every word as they read it off the page. The mispronunciation of some words, the drawing out of other words (so they can read the next I presume), the strange intonation and random changes in volume all combined for a faux-comic performance which after about 10 minutes we were both laughing along to in the car. The problem was that while it was funny we couldn't concentrate on some of the best ghost stories ever written.

Awful Narrator
This collection of ghosts stories is
completely ruined by the narrator, she is just terrible. Her voice and speech style is very odd and off putting and there is zero emotion in her voice. I have no idea if the stories in this book are any good because I couldn’t bear to listen to her read them. Awful, awful, awful.
