About this listen
They knew they were going back in time. They didn't expect to get stuck there!
This is the second in the Stuck series. It's a stand-alone story that skillfully blends history with fiction to create an adventure story featuring the Baxter children, twins Robert and James and their sister, Lucy. It is narrated by Rachel Laurence, an actress who has starred in films, TV, and on the stage. Once again, the children face a problem that can only be overcome by going back in time.
With the help of Uncle Archie, this time they travel back to the 16th century. To begin with, all goes smoothly, but then a series of dramatic events means they become separated - then stuck! Robert, James, and Lucy are resourceful children and have to learn to adapt to their circumstances and work both individually and as a team to find a solution to their difficulties. Along the way, they meet several historical figures from the Elizabethan period, including the most famous and important person of them all.
The Stuck books can be enjoyed by all ages - from middle-grade children (eight and up) through to young adults and all those who are young at heart.

This time the strange occurrence that happened to James is happening to Robert and the children know exactly what to do, visit Uncle Archie and find out what is wrong with the museum. This time the children need to use the time machine to travel back to 1595 to find a ring. Instead they find themselves in trouble, the children get separated and must face there own challenges if they want to survive. James must put all his acting skill to the test to become a child star or face the whip. Can he learn old English? Lucy must learn a very different beauty regime or it's off with her head, as she becomes a maid to the Queen. Robert faces the most difficult challenge, trying to find his sister and brother while invisible. Can the children find each other and the missing ring before time gets the better of them.
I like the narrator. She uses drama, excitement and skill to bring an already good book to life.
