About this listen
They had a plan, but it didn't include getting stuck in the 19th century! In this stand-alone adventure, Robert, James, and Lucy Baxter travel to the 19th century on an important mission, starting by befriending a young Charles Dickens. If the children fail, it could prove fatal for one of them. They have to work as a team to find a way through their problems, especially as once again they find themselves stuck, without the means to get home. At that point, Lucy realizes she needs to step up and take control, or all will be lost!

This time when a chain of discarded letters, starting with Charles Dickens father, goes missing from the museum Lucy is the one needing her brother's help. The children with help from the time machine head back to 1824 to befriend a young Charles Dickens. This time they have done their research and have a plan, everybody knows what they need to do but something goes wrong in there real time line and the children become stuck with no way to get back. Uncle Archie had provided them with provisions but what happens if they stay longer than a week? Or if they get separated? Can Robert and James earn enough money for food and lodging? Because living in the streets is no fun no matter what year it is? What about Lucy can she survives when no body can see her? And will the children still be able to find the letters for when the machine finally takes them home? Only time will tell.
I like the narrator she is a good choice for the series as she does some fun voices and even had to sing in this book.
