About this listen

Anything could happen when you spend summer in San Remo....

Running her busy concierge service usually keeps Cassie Travers fully occupied. But when a new client offers her the strangest commission she's ever handled, she suddenly finds herself on the cusp of an Italian adventure, with a man she thought she would never see again.

Jake McQuire has returned from the States to his family-run detective agency. When old flame Cassie appears in need of help with her mysterious client, who better than Jake to step in? Events take the pair across Europe to a luxurious villa on the Italian Riviera. There, Cassie finds that the mystery she pursues pales into insignificance when compared to another discovery made along the way.

Clean and fun mystery romance

I read the other books in the series first, so it was nice to read about the beginning of it all. The story is cute, takes place in beautiful scenery in Bath(U.K. ) and Italy, it’s completely clean ( even if at times there some sexual tension) with the spicy scenes fading to black. We also get a mystery, but I wasn’t super invested in it, as it was more of a side plot for me.
Narration was great.

.......sort of Mills and Boon - ish!

A lovely light and gentle romance, feel good, not taxing. Ideal for summer, or a cold dull winter evening!

Disappointing

Reading reviews I had expected a bit more from this. Couldn’t really warm to the main characters, and felt the storyline was slow and rather dull in places. I thought the revelation of why they were in San Remo was a bit weak, and I cringed at some of the descriptions of Cassie’s feelings and private thoughts….Doesn’t really make me want to read any more of the series.
