About this listen

Welcome to Willow Ridge, Missouri. In this cozy Amish town along the banks of the river, the old ways are celebrated at the Sweet Seasons Bakery Café, and love is a gift God gives with grace.

Summer has come to Willow Ridge, and Rachel Lantz is looking forward to a whole new season in her life as well - marriage to strapping carpenter Micah Brenneman, her childhood sweetheart. But when a strange Englisher arrives in the café claiming to be the long-lost sister of Rachel and her twin Rhoda, Rachel feels the sturdy foundation of her future crumbling - including Micah's steadfast love. As the days heat up and tempers flare, Rachel and Micah will learn that even when God's plan isn't clear, it will always lead them back to each other.

I rarely write reviews but couldn't pass this one up. I find it so difficult to find reads that aren't gory or full of sex and offensive lqnguage or downright sinister or full of the occult. absolutely loved this book, still managed to be an excellent story with twists and turns and well fleshed out characters but was refreshing and uplifting and inspiring too. would heartily recommend to anyone else whe struggles with modern culture. and the best bit... its the first in a series of 6 books... that'll keep me busy for a few weeks.

wonderful

wholesome reading

For me the Amish theme was quite interesting as not familiar with the movement really ( apart from watching the film Witness several years ago!)
I liked the main characters especially Miriam. I like strong female attitudes- especially when men have such attitudes! I enjoyed imagining all that food, and those dishes. It all sounded very cosy and wholesome.
I’m looking forward to the next in the series.
