Invaluable for new and seasoned coaches looking to explore technology more deeply
This is a great introduction to understanding the place of technology in coaching from the basics of virtual coaching to the greater opportunities that evolving technologies - including AI -
may offer. His honesty about the pros and cons of the place of technology in coaching will be invaluable to new coaches and also to seasoned coaches who are ready to look deeper at the opportunities that technology may offer a client in moving forward. That said, he is not forcing any coach to use advanced technology - our own self awareness of our attitude to technology is useful though. Additionally, what makes it so readable(or easy to listen to on audio) is the very real and relevant examples and analogies given. I’d highly recommend this book for all open-minded coaches keen to add to their coaching service in ways that effectively serve clients.

A good collection of tools for the remote age
A good collection of tools well articulated, especially in audiobook format. The inclusion spoken of web links makes the listen a little broken in some places. The narrators presentation didn’t engage me significantly, but this didn’t distract from the message and ideas. Overall a great book of ideas. It will be interesting to see how this work evolves with ChatGPT and similar generative AI.

A great guide through the currency coaching tech landscape
This book helps you identify some core technologies which you can use in your coaching today, which is really handy.
Actually one of the websites mentioned in the book really helps me find focus and calm even outside of my coaching.
Sam uses interesting connections to history to paint an interesting and relevant path through technological advancements which make this an entertaining listen.
As an early listener I picked up a few narration issues which is why I have docked a mark but I expect they will be addressed by the time you read this.
Overall this is an entertaining book with some useful elements which I am applying in my coaching to go beyond the pure talking approach to include visual and auditory stimuli which can be really helpful.
Give it a listen.

Tools for coaching now and tomorrow!
This is a very special book because it starts us thinking about what’s possible in terms of coaching tools. I would emphasise those Sam’s approach is not to say we need tools but rather to say what tools might be helpful in assisting the thinker to gain insight and clarity into their own stuff. What particularly liked was the way Sam started with the most basic tools and then moved on to more complicated tools that are likely to inhabit our space more and more. I was particularly interested in exploring how virtual reality (VR) could be useful in helping people get better insight into their own stuff.
I also really liked the way Sam encouraged us to think about the stuff that is already there in terms of video games and tools that people are already familiar with as these offer important and robust environments that could be useful in the coaching space. Lots more exploring for me here.
I would really recommend this to anyone who wants to explore where coaching can, and I believe, will go
Warning: if you don’t read this book, this stuff will catch you up anyway, and you could be completely broad-sided by it.
Final thought
Even better if: personally, I didn’t like the narrator very much as it felt like this was Sam Storey, and it was being told by a woman who had a rather grating voice. So apart from that excellent book well worth listening to and I think it’s a book going to have to this and to at least once more.
