I Ka r read all of Cecelia Ahernes books and enjoyed them all. I love the strange, mystical experiences of most of her heroines. I enjoy the unpredictability of them all. This was a book with a good story. The ending predictable from almost the beginning -but that didn’t spoil ok . I loved the sun plot of the adventure in London with her father - who was a great character.
The narration was a little disappointing at times when the narrator failed to change herc voice or tone when depicting different characters especially when a male and female are interacting. Otherwise an excellent book.

Where does Thanks for the Memories rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It was average, I had high hopes as I have loved The authors material in all its guises - whether physical books, audiobooks or film adaptations that I've read or seen so far. However, I found the story a bit contrived and lacking substance, and as such I couldn't really lose myself in the story and connect with the characters. I found it hard to believe that memories can be gleaned from another person just by receiving their blood donation. In my oppinion, it would have been more believable if it had been an organ donation - I know that it just fantasy but I couldn't get my head round it and it spoilt the story. On a positive note, there were some really funny and poignant chapters that did make me laugh and feel moved - a saving grace. The chapter in the airport was the best part of the book and I laughed out loud. All in all it was an ok read but I preferred some of the other titles I've read by Cecilia Ahern.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

How the main character deals with feelings of loss and grief of her unborn child, and the relationship she has with her elderly father which was written with tenderness and which develops as the story goes on. least interesting was how sickly sweet the story is between main character and love interest, which was a bit samey and boring.

What three words best describe Amy Creighton’s voice?

Can't think of three in particular but I will say I selected this book as I enjoyed previous books read by Amy and while I did enjoy her narration in her own voice, the parts with the American accent got on my nerves - sorry!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

How the main character deals with her miscarriage and I loved the relationship between her and her father and the 'memory photos' she takes in her mind was lovely and very moving to me.

Best book I've enjoyed for a long time. The narrator is excellent too. I hope to find more of her work! The unexpected pleasure from this story was the lighthearted comedy presented through the characters. I think there's a film in here! I'd definitely go see it.

I loved this book. I read/listened to it in 2 days, working and having a busy social life at the same time, so I can honestly say that it took up all of my spare time. It wasn't one of those book that I can't put down because I HAVE to know what happens next. In this case there was a bit of curiosity, but I was also drawn back to it because it is thoroughly enjoyable.
The performance was excellent! Amy Creighton was so good. I loved her Doris!!!! I really enjoyed her performance.

My favourite depiction and arc was Joyces relationship with her father. I think joyces father deserves his own book, a wee trip overseas, maybe something with a magical garden where he can meet 'his Gracie' again.

I liked this narrator, i was ables to hang on with her, she felt honest and true to the story.

I have not read any of Cecelia Ahern's books before but I have heard of PS I Love You!
It took me up until chapter 14 to get vaguely interested in this story. It was very slow and a little boring for me. I did love the Grandfather's character as he made me laugh on several occasions and I loved his outlook on life.
An easy read and I'm sure many people will love it, but sadly it wasn't to
my taste.
