Summary

ASBOs may be the pride and joy of New Labour, but they don't cut much ice with Horace Rumpole - he takes the old-fashioned view that if anyone is going to be threatened with a restriction of their liberty then some form of legal proceeding ought to be gone through first. When one of the Timson children is given an ASBO for playing football in the street, Rumpole soon realizes something fishy is going on.

Well narrated and another entertaining tale of Horace and the gang, including She Who Must Be Obeyed

Good clean satire.

Bill Wallis does a good job on characterising different people in a believable fashion. I'm glad Hilda gets another chance to express herself - she's probably a more reliable narrator than our old darling hero, though I'd not want to live with either of them.

Rumploe but not at his best

Disappointing. The older books are more fun and have more interesting plots. Narration is good

Sheer Genius

Bill Wallis really makes Rumpole come to life and the character vocalisations are fantastic.

As usual this is Rumpole at his best, I can't recommend this book enough, it is sublime!

Lovely and cuddly

I have listened to this book twice now, it is so entertaining, and got new laughs out each time. The way Horace Rumpole navigates his way through the world of legal work is fascinating, and the way he deals with his private life and the 'rules' of his chambers is very good.
