About this listen

We often think of saints as rare individuals whose gifts far exceed our own, and St. Francis is no exception. But for Fr. Richard Rohr, a prolific author and renowned speaker, the life and teachings of this beloved figure offer an authentic spirituality we can all embody.

On the Art of Letting Go, Fr. Rohr gives us a six session learning course that explores: the surprising richness we discover by simplifying our lives - without taking a vow of poverty; liberation from our self-limiting biases and certitudes; contemplation and action, two key steps toward communing more deeply with the Divine, and more.

An Overwhelmingly Refreshing Read

Every so often you find a book that points you in the direction of the heart of healthy spirituality. This is one of those books.

I actually read (listened to) it first 3 years ago and got sooo much from it then. However, as I listened to it again recently, like really good wine, it tasted even better with age. I guess it’s because I’ve had time to test the truths in this book and I can this is the real deal.

If you’re looking to go deeper; if a part of your heart recognises that there’s something more, then I encourage you to be open to the wisdom in this book.

Could change your life

Simple, orthodox, challenging, profound. Fr Richard Rohr’s reading of this is like being led on a private retreat.

Deepen your understanding of how to let go

At first I was somewhat put off by the biblical and Christian references, given I'm not religious. But once I'd 'let go' of that issue it was a pleasure to immerse myself in Richard Rohr's half century of experience and wisdom. A blessed treat for the open hearted.

Gentle wisdom

Rohr's gentle, conversational tone nonetheless contains wisdom that could change your life if you let it. If you want your life to be more centred and less frenetic then this is the book for you, no matter what faith group you belong to.

The Art of letting go

This is truly a great read. Challenged me on notions that I have held since I was a child. simple in its presentation yet full of wisdom. Read in a very calm voice by Fr. Rohr who is utterly believable to me. a good resource for Christians who want to grow in their faith.

For those searching for reality

Religiously iconoclastic, liberating, counterintuitive, inclusive and loving, are these teachings. Find out for yourself.

Insightful and perfectly explained.

Father Richard humbly leads us through the Art of letting go. He explains how forgiveness is key to letting go and even though it feels like losing, it is in fact the doorway to heaven that wonderful spacious place.

If you don’t get it maybe you’re not there yet

This is a great series of reasoned arguments that should help anyone to understand that there’s more to life than money, popularity, competitiveness etc... black and white thinking causes such anxieties in the modern life in which we are always pressed for time. Relax into the words and enjoy time spent with this wise man. If you don’t get it then maybe you’re not ready yet.
