Summary
It has been two years since Lady Marion Tunstall lost her husband at sea, two years of sorrow and grief. Only now has the comely young widow finally reentered society. It is then, when she and her family attend the merriment of a country dance, that Lady Marion sees her dead husband, alive and well - and faints dead away.

got to the end
what a wimpy blind man. or was it the heroine who was the wimp? he behaves appallingly, she takes him back . taraah. and then his coversion to super-lover at the end was too dramatic, did not ring true..
but the good language well narrated kept me listening.

Not THAT bad!
Listened to the prior books and it’s a nice story to listen to. Yes he’s an ass and Yes she is treated badly BUT don’t forget era it’s set in and frankly none of these stories are realistic but sod it! Marriage nower days is flippant and no one forgives but simply ditch their losses, back then you had no choice! I think both of them are brave in the end, her with determination and him conquering what would be very hard for a man! As always there is a happy ending and it’s currently a free listen so why not! Plus there is always some kink and reference to proud members! 😂

Not for me
This was a real struggle to get through. The husband is ridiculous and stubborn and the main couple is just unlikable. I just disliked the entire concept and story.

No pride
So sad that someone can be so cruel to a person but the continue to put themself in mental abuse’s way. Well written even if we all don’t like how the characters behave I experienced all the distressing emotions with them. I did want her to make him grovel at the end, not just let him semi rape her after the fire. It was pretty much ALL about his feelings and needs. She was a tragic incidental to his life. The narrator needs more training. We are not five year olds listening to story hour. Spoiled the story somewhat.
