Another great book
I have listened to all the Miss Silver books and thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. If you like Agatha Christie you'll love these.

I really like this one!
This story has all the best elements of the Miss Silver Mysteries and for boned Frank Abbott need not be called upon. These stories are my ‘go to’ books now abs when you’ve exhausted them on audible you will find a few more on kindle. Then you can move onto the much h dr rated marvellous author Moray Dalton. I wish you joy.

Gothic
A rather Gothic tale. I found it a real page turner so to speak. It is rather different from her other books but good nonetheless

A story truly set in the past - nicely creepy!
Where does The Benevent Treasure rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I found this story more exciting than perhaps Through the Wall which is the most recent Miss Silver book I have listened to
Which scene did you most enjoy?
The opening scene where Candida is rescued - this sets the tone nicely and introduces us to two of the main characters years before the murder story begins.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
When I first read this book many years ago I found it to be pleasantly thrilling and creepy - there's nothing like cobwebbed cellars to enhance a crime novel!

Not the best for me
i have recently discovered Patricia Wentworth and have since listened to plenty of her books, that i liked very much. This one I found a bit boring due to characters in the story repeating the same information over and over again, and due to quite limited presence of Miss Silver. A touch disappointing.

Typically and typical!
I have read almost all of the Miss Silver novels with the exception of 3 I think. This one was the most dreary, depressing, and unlikable of them all!
There are no redeeming qualities to it, no easily likeable characters, even the likeable characters are blind in the backdrop of this story!
I would only say, “ listen to this one because I’ve already listened to the others, you may as well!” Especially if, like me, you have to read an entire series! But otherwise if you can read it I believe it’s free because it’s in the public domain - because I honestly can’t recommend it, for any other reason.
The narrator, as always, it’s very good! She never lets you down.
