This was recommended to me on a social media post, asking for next listen suggestions. The fact that it was recommended by the author herself should have set off alarm bells.
I gave examples of what I enjoy reading/listening to in the post and this is NOTHING like the examples I gave. The author must have known this yet she chose to plug her own titles. I hate to DNF but honestly I am THIS close. The writing seems forced, like it was written by a teenager, for teenagers.
I might have enjoyed this when I was 12 or 13, but I am not. The characters are two dimensional, the world building is minimal. The names or locations and characters are awkward sounding and so similar to each other one loses track of who is whom. the dialogues are stiff. I'm glad I only used one credit.

The writing seems forced.
