About this listen

DCI Craig Gillard will be pushed to his limits. But will he break? It seems like a routine disappearance, a case of musician’s stage fright. As a senior detective, Craig Gillard isn’t sure why he’s even involved. Until it turns out the woman’s father is the German minister of justice, and the British home secretary is on the case, too.

But nothing about the case is simple. How does a woman on a train simply vanish? What do you do when a trail runs cold and the pressure is on?

Before long the perpetrator has another target: DCI Gillard himself. What if the detective isn’t just running the case but is part of it? The victim merely a lure for a bigger fish.

The answer is under the bridge. The chilling setting for the biggest challenge of his life.

The latest DCI Gillard Crime Thriller is a knockout: fast and completely gripping, perfect for fans of Stuart Macbride, Mark Billingham and Robert Bryndza.

grew up around where these books are based.
good yarn and well read although a lot of the voices of other characters do tend to merge after a while

best one so far

Good book, but my least favourite so far. Good plot, but could have been strung out more like the previous books, few more twists ect. On to the next one!

Least favourite so far.

Loved it

This series is outstanding, what a page turner! I have got to know the characters over the series and enjoy the interaction between them. My favourite part is the research into the forensic side, I love reading about that.
Narrator is perfect!

Excellent

This is one truly twisted story, full of more surprises than I've seen in an age, totally bizarre and I'm sure many will say unrealistic but frankly, life is often unrealistic (mine has been) and any criminal can be as inventive as an author so how can a story be unrealistic?

This is brilliant, the best in this fabulous series so far, totally recommended.

I recently can across this author and starter to read his books. I am on number 8 now. To date I have followed Peter James, Karen Slaughter, LJRoss, Jeffery Archer and Lynda LaPlsnte but I can say Nick Louth’s stories are equally as good and much better than the later books LJ Ross mainly because the stories are all different. Are more detailed , in-depth and are really well researched. This hours for Peter James too specifically regarding the House on Cold Hill and another which is so similar. I am usually able to work out what is going on in Nick Louth’s stories but never to it’s entirety as there is always something else and an added twist or two. Give this author a try I doubt you will be disappointed.
