Summary

The Books of Blood combine the ordinary with the extraordinary while radiating the eroticism that has become Barker's signature. Weaving tales of the everyday world transformed into an unrecognizable place, where reason no longer exists and logic ceases to explain the workings of the universe, Clive Barker provides the stuff of nightmares in packages too tantalizing to resist.

Never one to shy away from the unimaginable or the unspeakable, Clive Barker breathes life into our deepest, darkest nightmares, creating visions that are at once terrifying, tender, and witty.

The Books of Blood confirm what horror fans everywhere have known for a long time: We will be hearing from Clive Barker for many years to come.

Bloodier

Would you listen to The Books of Blood, Volume 2 again? Why?

Of course, and I have done.

What did you like best about this story?

That there are many stories, each one different.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yeah, though it is best not to. I'd do it in smaller sittings, savouring each story.

Any additional comments?

These stories are good, seriously good. Barker is one talented writer and one very disturbed individual...

Great stories for Cliver Barker fans

Kind of book for readers who like their horror on the graphic and bloody side, I still prefer he first one better.

Classic Clive.

These books were my first introduction to the awesomeness of Clive Barker, many, many moons ago.
People might be surprised how many of the stories in ‘Books’ have been turned into films.
They are a great read, and being made of short stories, are great to dip in and out of.
I couldn’t recommend them enough, and have been, again, for many moons.
Great stuff.

Excellent Horror Short Stories

Overall, the stories in this collection aren't quite as strong as the stories from Volume 1, but they're still of an extremely high standard. Hardly surprising as Clive Barker is one of the all-time greatest writers of horror fiction.
Once again, the choice of narrator for each story was superb.
Another winner from the fine folk at Crossroad Press.
Highly recommended.
