I love this series by Kerry Tombs and the reader is great. I’m getting to know the characters and like the way the intriguing plots gradually unfold. I find the women characters often infuriatingly submissive - but that is very much in line with Victorian attitudes! True to the time. And the Victorian class system is well portrayed. (I’m glad to say the inspector and his sergeant respect their wives!!) As I’m local to that area, I also like to read about those places and towns in the nineteenth century.
I really don’t want Ravenscroft to retire!!

Entertaining as usual
