J. Prowse Devon

I purchased this book for my granddaughter but had a listen myself first. I'm sure she's going to love it. It is well read and I love the fact that the narrator has used different voices for the characters. I look forward to listening to the next book when my granddaughter has listened to this one. Excellent mystery for children.

Fantastic fun for all the family!

Would you listen to The Case of the New Kid on the Block: The Alex Mysteries Prequel again? Why?

Yes!

If you're like me, you will frequently find yourself locked in the car with the whole family on a long drive. And, once I Spy has run its course, things can get a little frustrating. Here is a perfect way to change 'Are we there yet?' to 'Can we stay here and listen to more?'The Case of the New Kid on the Block is a thrilling story, and the perfect introduction to a new hero and her adventures. We'll certainly be looking out for more from Lexi in the future.

What other book might you compare The Case of the New Kid on the Block: The Alex Mysteries Prequel to, and why?

This reminded us of a modern day Famous Five story, or even a classic Nancy Drew.

Have you listened to any of Diana Croft’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Diana's reading made the story for us. It's the first time we've heard anything narrated by her, but we're keen to hear more! A wonderful performance!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes - well, one car journey!

Mysterious story and good character voices!

"I liked the story, it was mysterious, and liked that it was set in a school. The lady reading it was very good, I liked how she did different voices for each character and I can't wait to hear the next book!" Ruby, aged 9.

Brilliant! When is the next one available?!

Any additional comments?

The story is great but the lady doing the voice over is fantastic! Look forward to more titles from both the author and the narrator.

Good story

Good children's story, very well read. The different voices of the narrator uses brings the book alive.
