Stranded. Emily could no longer see the road ahead. Willing herself not to cry, she stopped the car and put it in park, leaving the engine running. Ragged breaths competed with the sound of wind pelting the vehicle with icy particles. Already, her windshield was covered, blocking out the snow-covered landscape and entombing her within the claustrophobic confines of the car.
