About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

A detective and FBI agent join forces on a manhunt for a cold-blooded serial killer in this intense psychological thriller.

From Coastal California to Upstate New York, a killer is plotting a devastating path of destruction.

Michael and Megan Fitzgerald are siblings who share a troubling past. Both adopted, and now grown - Michael is a long-haul truck driver, Megan a college student majoring in psychology - they trust each other before anyone else. They've had to.

When a young woman is found murdered in Michael's LA apartment, he is the chief suspect and quickly arrested. But then there's another killing that is strikingly similar. And another. And not just in LA - as the spree spreads across the country, the FBI become involved in a manhunt for a cold-blooded serial killer.

False leads and shocking circumstances that defy logic will leave the LAPD and FBI desperately searching for a way to prevent a string of murders that seem unstoppable.

One of favourites

Slow start but such a clever story, characters developed with the story going in unexpected directions and then a great finish.
Performances really added to the listen, all in all one of the best audiobooks I’ve listened too.

Hard to follow and long winded.

Good for killing time on long trips but the weakest James Patterson novel IMO. Need more Alex Cross 🤞🏼

The narrator is singing it!

Had to swap for another book- was enjoying the story but the narration was so annoying!!! It was like he was singing every word.

Very clever story

I struggled with this book. As others have noted, the narrator’s voice was almost sing-song (similar to William Shatner’s way of talking) which was quite off-putting for a good part of the book. I also found that too many twists meant that I couldn’t couldn’t get to like or dislike characters as I didn’t know who to trust or believe. Some may enjoy this style of writing but sadly it’s not for me.

excellent

Gripping all the way to end. In the end when things start to make sense and you figure things out, you are wrong once again. Highly recommended this book

sit back and enjoy

a very enjoyable book, it did get a little bit confusing as it jumped about alot without any notice. was great with the details and description which helped relate to the characters.

Great Book

Took a while to get into it due to the narrator's voice but once I got used to it and the story went on I couldn't wait to hear what happened next. Loads of twist and turns. Brilliant story.

Great book

This book kept me hooked until the end. The end was really twisted. I didn’t see it coming.

Thriller, captivating

My first audible book. At first it took me a while to get into it, but when I did I was hooked. Lots of twists and difficult to switch off. Loved the story and the narration was excellent. Would recommend this one.
