About this listen
Books 1-3 in the Culling Series
Book 1, The Culling: 150 years after a virus wipes out most of the world's population, Reagan Scott finds herself chosen for the State of the Union's fifth Culling. She will compete against forty-nine of the country's brightest girls. And then, of course, there are the fifty boys. She'll have to pair up with one for her shot at becoming the next Presidential Couple.
Though the government truly means well, not everything is as it seems. She will be tested to the fullest extent while an evil storm brews.
Book 2, The Fracturing: As the competition for Presidential Couple continues and the final four are solidified, the campaigning begins, sending Reagan on a tour of the townships to vie for the votes and hearts of the nation. Though she's finally with the one who has always had her heart, everything else seems to be spinning out of control. With enemies both within the Culling and outside of it, it's not a matter of if something will happen . . . but when.
Book 3, The Reckoning: In the final moments of The Fracturing, Reagan was taken. While the rest of the country casts their votes for the next Presidential Couple, Reagan must now fight to survive.

I loved it
The narrator was fab, really found her easy to listen too. However, I did listen on x1.05 on speed as it was a tad slow.
It definitely has a romantic element with finding love but not too overbearing as there is action throughout too.
I was finding myself wanting to listen to more so definitely enjoyed it.
it's written in first person from a 17 year old girl so could see why some wouldnt get on with it.

Mary Sue and Mr Perfect but otherwise enjoyable
I had to say, I really enjoyed the story, apart from the author going into way too much detail with the small actions where a vague description would have done, and in fact, less detail would have got the story moving better and given more sense of the issues going on. The Heroine is a Mary-Sue and the Hero a Mr Perfect, but for a 3 in 1 book and only 1 credit for the lot, it was worth the listen. Books 1 and 2 moved better, and most of the issues were in book 3, but by then I cared about the characters and wanted to know what happened.

I need more apocalypse
Unfortunately I like my post apocalyptic dystopia to be a bit more post apocalyptic! Think it could be a lot grittier and truer to how a real apocalypse would be, too fanciful for me! However, I did listen to all three books, I’m not a quitter
