About this listen

The deadly hunt ends in the thrilling final book of the Trackers saga....

The mountain town of Estes Park, Colorado, is scrambling to recover from the betrayal of two of their police officers, and prepare for threats outside their borders. But with Chief of Police Marcus Colton imprisoned by rival Sheriff Mike Thompson, the job to protect the isolated town is left to Sam "Raven" Spears and newly promoted Captain Lindsey Plymouth. They will do everything they can to bring Colton home and save their citizens, but one thing is certain: a war is coming to Estes Park, and no one will be spared from the horrors.

Across the country, Secretary of Defense Charlize Montgomery continues to lead recovery efforts in the wake of the arriving Chinese workers and soldiers. But the threat of foreign soldiers on American soil isn't the only problem - the Sons of Liberty and other domestic terrorist groups continue to rise to power, enacting a wave of violence and chaos that threatens to derail the recovery efforts.

Will Raven, Colton, and Charlize save the United States from collapse? One thing is certain - they won't be able to save everyone. Not with their humanity still intact.

Riveting

I rarely write reviews but in this instance I felt I should. The Tracker series gave insight to what can happen if there were ever an EMP strike and it is scary as hell. Nicholas Sansbury Smith gave us a glimpse of this world. I loved every single book and would recommend you read them all.

Not High Brow Fiction but....

This is the second series of novels I have listened to by Nicholas Sansbury Smith. Both were end of the world scenarios ( the other I read was the Extinction Cycle).

This series is very much white hat good guy black hat bad guy ( for those old enough for the old westerns ). It would be really easy to dismiss this as easy to read, elevator story. However it isn’t! Mr Sansbury Smith has created a believable arena for his protagonists to act upon.

My only criticism and in this series it is only a tiny problem is that his female characters aren’t as well defined as his male heros

The performance by Bronson Pinchot is spot on. He doesn’t get in the way of the story which is the mark of a good narrator.

I feel a little sad as I’ve reached the end of the series and I will miss Raven and his Akita and the other characters. Maybe there may be another book Mr Sansbury Smith
