About this listen
Abby has been through hell and has survived one of the most brutal childhoods imaginable. To the outside world, she is just a loner with an attitude. When her grandmother dies in a tragic explosion, Abby is left with questions - and nothing else. Homeless, sleeping in a junkyard, and on the run from a system that has failed her over and over again, she meets Jake, a tattooed, blue-eyed biker with secrets that rival her own. Two broken souls that can't be healed. They can't be saved. Abby and Jake have to decide if they can accept the darkness not only within one another but within themselves. If they can accept each other for who they really are, they might be able to learn that love isn't always found in the light.

A Brilliant Story!!!
This is the first time listening to the author but it won't be the last.
The story was dark but when the light arrived it was brilliant.
it showed that out of the hell that was Abby`s life there could follow peace.
The only downside of this book was there wasn't enough of Christian Fox bringing to life how Jake felt. Saying that, Lucy Rivers did an excellent job.
I would definitely recommend it.

Good story and great narration
Really enjoyed this! Narration is great. It’s all a bit insta love in the beginning but when you get past that it’s a good, suspenseful and emotional story. Looking forward to listening to the other books in the series!

Devoured in a day
This books tells the story of Jake and Abby (we meet Jake in the later King and Lawless books, The Dark Light of Day actually precedes this books). Both Jake and Abby haven't had a great start in life, and both of them have secrets. They learn to accept each other's faults but it seems too much to hope that they'll catch a break. Every time things seem to be going well poor Abby gets another thing thrown at her. Such a heartbreaking tale of love, loss and second chances. Absolutely loved it. Can't get enough of TM Frazier's writing.

Sickenly amazing
This book was not what I expected. When you think things can't get worse - you are corrected. Somehow I listened to the whole thing with only a short break to sleep (but my body and/or mind woke me up after only 5 hours of sleep). I loved and hated every second of it and need to recommend it to everyone I know for the selfish reason that I NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT ! Enjoy.

Great but unusual love story.
This was my first audio book which I found a very different experience. I really enjoy it ,but I think the story helped also. A very different love story from anything I had ever read before.. I loved it ,poor Abby and the life she had lived before meeting Jake. Well worth a read or a listern.

Needs a male narrator!
I soooo wanted to give this book a higher scoring.
The story is good, the characters great but….it took me far longer to listen to than other books, and that is because it didn’t grip me like others. Jake needed a male narrator, the author also could have gone into more detail about his travels, switching to his story using the male voice would have captured more of my attention. The vocabulary of the author also a little amateur.. oh and one last critique, not enough heat, passion or fire!
Although I have hit this book hard, it is free and I don’t want to say it’s not worth the read, it is but I just wanted more!!!
