About this listen
Dr. Adam Richards was raised in a time where being gay was taboo. Like most men of his time, he settled down, married a woman, and had children. Thirty years later, divorced and ready to start over, he wishes he'd been true to himself back when he was younger and desirable. Who'd want an old man like him? And what would his sons think if they knew the truth?
Then Adam meets the young, confident, and gorgeous Aaran MacNair. Adam is positive he's too old for him. But Aaran has a secret; he's a thousand-year-old dragon-shifter, and what's more, he claims Adam is his mate.
A single date quickly spirals into a moment of passion, igniting the bonding process. But Adam's son interrupts, halting the completion of the bond. Feeling the effects of the mating heat, Aaran has two options—leave or risk killing Adam's son—both choices have devastating consequences.

I love these audio/books.
Such a great series, but I recommend starting on book one and working your way through them as the story continues with each book/audio.
In book six, we meet Dr Adam Richards, an older human doctor and Aaran, the red dragon brother.
This is a great story, full of ups and downs. Delayed mating, brothers who scrap, Mpreg's. Great reading, keeping you riveted throughout the book. Highly recommend.
My dilemma is whether I read the following two books or wait patiently for the audio versions.
Good narration from Aaron Ross, but I did speed up on Audible, which is usual for me, but clear and concise. I will be looking for the next book in the series. I absolutely love the Scottish brogue.

Mates
I’m enjoying this dragon series by C.K. Noel – and narrated by the wonderful Aaron Ross. Each novella is a little glimpse into the mythical world of dragons. This book had a guy I could related to – Adam has lived half of what he expects his life to be. He married a woman because it was expected of him and he had two boys, whom he adores, because that’s what people did. He never considered there might be another way to live. He’s envious of gay men who are living out and proud – he’s not there yet.
Then Adam meets Aaran and everything changes. The younger man is very interested and suddenly Adam questions if he might have what he’s always wanted. Except there’s this little catch – Aaran’s a dragon. A thousand-year-old dragon. And now that the dragon king has found his mate, many of Aaran’s close associates – including his brothers – are finding mates themselves. So Aaran’s ready to claim Adam. Only, as they’re mid bonding session, Adam’s sons arrive. Here things got a little convoluted but, in the end, the men complete the mating ritual and Adam becomes Aaran’s. There are consequences, of course, but that’s all part of being mate to a dragon shifter.
I enjoyed the story and know there are more to come and I’m excited to listen to them as well.

Nail biting instalment
I was shocked and surprised at how things went downhill for Aaran and Adam. I was biting my nails like crazy - I was totally stressed out as everything unfolded.
I had a few colourful words in mind for Rhys - he annoyed the hell out of me.
Narrator’s performance was fantastic.

Fab
This is a fab story, I loved following Aaran as he plans to woo his cardia Adam. There is a problem when they start the bonding process, can they complete the process. There are also several surprises and twists that come out. I can’t wait to read the next book. Aaron does a fab job in narrating and bringing the characters to life.

Really Enjoyed The Storyline
This is an arc review which the following is my own interpretation of this audiobook.
It was sweet, interesting and complex in parts and a new to me author. This is book 6 of the series, and admittedly, I have not heard the previous five books.
I’m hoping that there’s going to be a book that will explain Rhys’ further history in more detail.
Adam has two grown sons, which was a fun twist and different to what I’ve read before.
It was definitely enjoyable and I loved the story and MC’s.
The narrator reminded me a bit of Ewan McGregor with his accent, but at times seemed a little too slow.
It just seemed he needed to ‘pick up the pace’ a bit, but apart from that, I enjoyed the narration.
Overall, 5⭐️’s

Quick romp
I have only heard one other book in the series, I sincerely recommend listening to all of them in the correct order. What I liked best about this book was how Adam made mistakes because he lacked knowledge about dragon shifters. It gave me a feeling of reality, as though I was reading something that might actually happen.
I'm also very interested in finding out what happened and will happen to Rhys!

A dragon and a doctor
The High Garden Dragons is a great series. I recommend starting with the first volume, then you understand the world building a little better.
This time it's about Adam Richards, a doctor who meets Aaran. Aaran is a dragon shifter and he is considerably older than first thought. There are some ups and downs, but also tension as the pairing of the two is interrupted. And then Adam has some family matters to sort out.
I found the book very entertaining and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next in the series.
Aaron Ross delivered a good narration and I loved the accent he gave the characters.

No Longer Able To Resist Fate.
MM, Paranormal, Fated Mates, Shifters, Mpreg, Romance. Part of a series and although there is a new romance in each book there is a back story that continues throughout the series. A great story that I really enjoyed and I absolutely loved the narration, the Scottish burr was great. Guaranteed HEA.

Favorite of the series
This is my favorite book in this series so far. I loved the age gap romance between Aaran and Adam that turned out to have a surprising twist. Adam's struggles to finally live his life as a gay man were well handled, the steam between Adam and Aaran was off the charts and the separation before their HEA was logical in this world and heartbreaking. I enjoyed this when I read it, but listening to Aaron Ross bring these characters to life was even better. He handled the steam and the angst perfectly and made me care for these guys even more than when I met them on the page.
