Summary

Intense thrills at a breakneck pace, The Edge is the killer sequel to David Baldacci's runaway number one bestseller The 6:20 Man, featuring elite undercover operative Travis Devine (The 6:20 Man).

‘One of the world’s thriller masters’ –
Daily Mail

A Brutal Murder

Retired from the Army’s most prestigious special ops force, Travis Devine is now part of an elite undercover team in Homeland Security. But when he’s brought in by agent Emerson Campbell to investigate the murder of a young woman, he quickly learns that this case is more personal than most.

A Small Town

Four days earlier Jennifer Silkwell was found dead on the rocks of the Maine coastline. A high ranking analyst for the CIA, she had knowledge of national security secrets that would be valuable to a number of enemies. And her senator father once saved Emerson Campbell’s life.

A Big Secret

Knowing how much is riding on the case, Devine packs his bags and heads for the small town of Putnam in Maine. But small towns can harbour big secrets, and not everyone wants to share them with outsiders. Not when there’s a killer on the loose . . .

Killer twists. Heroes to believe in. Trust Baldacci.

Another great story

I really enjoyed this book, I’ve listened to the first book in this series and this is more of the same. Great work. Thanks 🙏

The voice actors make this book fantastic

The different voices made the whole book come alive. I miss the Camel Club humor and strong lines in the Baldacci books. King & Maxwell were great too as all his books from around that period. The characters are played so well in this book and the previous in this series that I will buy story number 3 as well.

Good old fashioned thriller

The plot and story are well constructed and overall it is a great book. The editing of the audio is far from decent. You can hear when the dialog has been recorded in two very separate studios and when an afterthought has been edited in. Overall it did not do enough to detract from the story.

Good plot well written

I liked the unfolding of the characters and the pace of the story. The red herrings were intriguing.

Great story

If I had read the book it would have taken me ages, but having it read to me by the fantastic team I have gone through this in a few days.

I can't wait for book 3.

One of his best!

Great story, even better than the 6:20 man. I really like the use of different narrator’s and using females for female parts. Makes it sound more like a radio play.
