Stumbled upon while browsing
Absolutely recommend Rhys Bowen. Excellent choice in narrator. Nicola Barber made this book for me. I enjoyed all of the book

Cosy stuff
This was my first book in this series.
The main protagonist’s Irish accent wasn’t real but after a while it faded into the background as I was drawn in by the excellent narration.
A cosy mystery with enough clues and red herrings to maintain one’s interest to the end.

This is a brilliant detective story and although she struggles to make sense of it, in the end she puts herself in danger to find the truth. Read brilliantly by Nicole Barbara

Quite enjoyable, but a few annoying aspects,
The story line is quite good and it's interesting to see how times have changed.
It does finish in rather a hurry, as though the author got bored at the end and wanted to finish it off quickly.
The narrator does a good job, really, with two exceptions. (1) The main female character's voice is too highly pitched and she sounds like a little child, and (b) the Irish accent is a little off, in as much as the letter 's', which is pronounced differently by many Irish speakers, (possibly called a 'broad s' but I'm not sure) and comes out quite 'airy', whereas the narrator has turned this into a lisp ie a 'th'.
