Summary

Kasper Wallace is a screwup. Everything he tries to do in life falls apart. He struggles to rise above his troubles...until the day a global pandemic gives him a purpose. His years of immersion into the apocalypse scenarios of books, movies, and video games, provides him with the knowledge that makes him a survival asset.

But is it enough to fight an invisible invader that sickens and turns its victims into something much more threatening? The virus shows no mercy or prejudice. It is violent and swift, and the after-effects of its rage leaves the human race at the edge of extinction.

Kasper has a choice. He can sit back and hunker down, or he could be one of the few who does something. Even if it means his life, he becomes part of an eclectic and misfit team that are tasked with removing and killing the infected across the country. A task that becomes increasingly more difficult as the range of the affected areas grow.

A divided country we stand or not

As always Jacqueline does another great audiobook that makes you think what if, could it and will it. Then you have Andrew bring to life the characters both alive and dead with so much feeling you feel you are part of the story.
A virus unknown source effects people as in any zombie story or movie but in this one at first you get effected when the infected person turns and starts throwing up blood and you turn instantly and later you can be infected by blood, bite or a scratch and still turn instantly or it may take awhile and you do not know you've infected. A centralized government tries to fighting the undead and to clear the undead out of towns and then try to create a new town and repopulating them with person not infected but fell in doing so. So the final solution is to devide the country in two a free zone eastern US starting at the Ohio River and a infected zone the western US but will that work what about the people in the western zone who is not infected will they be left to defend for themselves or try rescue them and either bring them to eastern zone or keep trying to send in patrols to travel the western zone and keep trying clear the US of the undead.
The story is about one of those groups and gives a brief history of the characters and what they lost from the beginning like families and friends and then you take a trip with them in the present a trip that covers their day to day life, fighting and loosing comrades in the battle to clear and reunite the two parts of the the eastern and western US.
I highly recommend this audiobook you are guaranteed to have an enjoy trip and becoming one if the member of the team and become one of them not just a member.

Good book

Not brilliant but worth a listen if you want a compact listen. There were some amusing bits. Someone actually explaining where zombie poop goes, oh my! Good narration.
