Summary

This is a story from the Grimm's Fairy Tales collection.

Here are some of the most enchanting fairy stories of all time. The Brothers Grimm conjure up a world of fantasy, hope and good fortune where the princess meets and marries the right prince (even if he once was a frog), and where the cruel witch, the arrogant wife and the greedy wolf get their comeuppance. It is a magical world which we must all inhabit at one time in our lives and which are as important in this computer age as ever before.

Editor reviews

What a lucky shoemaker to have the help of elves! Unlike some Brothers Grimm stories, "The Elves and the Shoemaker" is nothing but upbeat fun. Little listeners will love imagining those industrious and tiny naked elves whirling around the workshop, making perfect stitches, and stopping for dance breaks. Meanwhile, Laura Paton's voice warms the soul, like the company of a good friend. Her calm pacing and earnest enthusiasm make for easy listening. In this simple production, she resists distracting bells and whistles. At just under five minutes long, this tale suits even the littlest listeners.
