Summary
An unexpected reunion offers an alpha and omega a second chance....
Ten years ago, omega Alex Cary's fiancé broke his heart and left him with nothing. He's got a good career as a home chef, but he's lost his ability to trust.
Alpha Sol Delaney loved Alex more than oxygen, but he was dependent on his father's money. When his father demanded he break things off with the foster kid from the Bronx, Sol had no choice.
Ten years later, a freshly divorced Sol has returned to New York with his young son in tow. He wants Alex back, but it's not that easy: Sol's ex-husband and his mother-in-law are trying to drag Sol back, and there's no length to which they won't go.
This intense omegaverse romance is overflowing with passion, drama, and of course, clothes-ripping sex. Hot and descriptive bedroom action makes this gay paranormal Mpreg romance suitable for adults only!

You can't live through your children
I was given this audiobook as an advanced listener copy.
I enjoyed this listen as it had some of my favourite tropes; long lost lovers, family pressure and expectations and a criminal element. As well as the non-shifter alpha/ omega mpreg set up.
Although from opposite ends of the social scales neither Alex or Sol have had what could be called ' normal upbringing'. Which means like for all of us that we don't always act in our own best interests as we are either always trying to please others or can be too afraid to ask or take what we need. It also means we cannot always enjoy the good moments as we are waiting for sword of Damocles to drop. This is a key driver in the story and gives power to the machinations of others. However, there were some loveable supportive characters to help Alex and Sol through and some true villains you could boo at too. I loved Buddy. Also don't forget the cute kids
I am new to Blake Moresby and would willingly listen to him again, he is able to run the gamut of emotions and make the characters discrete. I felt all sort of emotions from joy, sympathy, amusement, anger, frustration, fear and excitement. This is where a good tale should take you; so that you can be in the moment.
Overall I want to give the book a 4.5. Why drop .5 of a point.? I just felt the storyline had a couple of over convoluted elements.
However, saying this; this is a series I want to continue with.

Second chances...
Sol Delaney never forgot his omega. Being forced to leave Alex behind all those years ago, he’s now divorced and with a lovely son. This is his second chance. I liked that it didn’t happen overnight... Alex is an omega that has come out of the ashes successfully but his past catches up to him. I enjoyed all the characters, bad, mean, sweet, loyal and super cute kids. Awesome story with an equally awesome narrator.

as good as the ebook
The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

Enjoyable to listen to
This is a book I have owned since it first came out but only started reading once I had the audiobook too. I wish I hadn't waited and I will definitely be reading/listening to more of the series.
Once again, as with other Aiden Bates books, I had immediate rapport with omega (Alex) and less liking for alpha (Sol). Sol now has his own money but, as a younger man, needed his father's financial support. He broke off his engagement to Alex and married his father's choice, ending up with not just an obnoxious father but also a foul mother in law (not to mention a husband with substance addiction). So I suppose it is not surprising he is a bit churlish!
Anyway, I found the book to be well-crafted with all the threads neatly tied together. There is slightly more angst than in many of this author's other books, but it works here.
Blayke Moresby is a new to me narrator. I enjoyed his style very much and loved his many different character voices. He made Carsten even more adorable.
