About this listen

This is soft sci-fi/horror.

A town is infested with ghosts and schizophrenics - but there's more to it than that.

Psychologist Will Banning knows how to help his patients, but now his office is overrun. Suddenly, half the town wants his help. One patient is being given very bad advice by a hard-headed part of his anatomy that’s never spoken before. Another man is wearing tin foil hats to keep strange voices at bay, and Will’s receptionist is seeing a pair of bloody ghosts floating around in his living room.

People aren’t the only ones affected. Veterinarian Maggie Maewood can’t keep up with her furry and feathered clientele. Dogs, cats, and birds are reacting to things no one can see - the entire town seems to be going mad. And when Will himself hears a long-forgotten voice beneath his bed whisper to him about a horrible childhood secret, he tells himself he’s hallucinating. But when his own trio of felines race from the room and refuse to return, Will must come to grips with the fact that there’s something strange in the neighborhood.

Will Banning doesn’t believe in ghosts, but he knows something is wrong in the little seaside town of Caledonia, and as long forgotten memories force themselves to the surface of his tortured mind, he and Maggie must save the town from itself.

Highly enjoyable

Format: audiobook
Narrator: Jamison Walker

A psychologist with his own issues finds himself flooded with more patients than he can handle when strange sightings have people flooding to him for answers to their apparent hauntings. Ghosts are not something Will Banning believes in, there has to be another logical explanation but Will may just learn that not everything can be explained away!
An enjoyably interesting and intriguing story. I’ll be looking to see what else this author has written.
The narrator does a good job, he’s certainly a good fit for this story.

Great book!

This book has not disappointed! The right balance of spookiness, mystery, and sci-fi all rolled into one. The narration really sucks you in too - I was always left wanting to hear the next chapter! The chapters themselves are not lengthy at all, which I found made the story move on at a great pace.
