About this listen

Madrona doesn't remember who she is. She might be a hero. But it's entirely possible she might be a villain. Either way, she probably needs to start prepping for the end of world. This is the complete trilogy of the Fractured Faery books.

Box of Frogs

It's one thing to wake up outside in the middle of the night with a decapitated man for company. It's another to have no memory of how you got there—or who you are. She might not know her own name but she knows that several people are out to get her. It could be because she has strange magical powers seemingly at her fingertips and is some kind of fabulous hero. But then why does she appear to inspire fear in so many? And who on earth is the sexy, green-eyed barman who apparently despises her? So many questions . . . and so few answers.

Quiver of Cobras

One wondrous faery with stupendous magical skills and a superior mind (not to mention incredible modesty). One drop-dead gorgeous, green-eyed stud muffin and his evil Fey brother. And the end of the world. Maybe.

Skulk of Foxes

An impending apocalypse. Several crazy faeries. A few troubling plagues of locusts and storms of fire . . . It's just another day in Manchester for the Madhatter.

I'm enjoying the characters and the world building immensely (as always with Helen Harper), but the narrator's lisp is very annoying. She's not too bad - very playful delivery that suits the story quite well (though I can see how some people might be annoyed), but every S sound grates my ear. Surely whoever did the editing heard it? Is this a conscious choice? Very odd if it is.
It was fun to revisit characters from another series though (shout-out to City of Magic). If you enjoyed that you'll enjoy this, assuming you don't mind the aforementioned lisp...

Fun story, somewhat annoying performance

First of all, I love Helen Harper‘s books normally. The storyline was good and I was initially intrigued about the amnesia aspect. I even liked the storyline I think the problem was I didn’t like the main character she wasn’t likable enough. Overall, I did enjoy the series And I’m looking at starting another Helen Harper book.

Mixed feelings

I couldn't stop listening to the great narrator, she made each character recognisable and made the story feel alive. I had listened to Charlie's story first but it didn't matter.
love Helen Harper book's, a fantastic author and has believable narrator's with her book's.
Thank you 😊

Brilliant 👏

I've enjoyed every HH series I've listened to so far (Firebrand, Blood Destiny, The Lazy Girl's Guide to Magic, and Highland Magic). I was tempted with this book as the entire series is bundled together. However, I found the narrator's approach to it irritating and the story just implausible. I gave up after a while and requested a refund. Thank goodness Audible allows that!

Normally a Helen Harper fan - but not this one.
