Summary

Daniel: I suck at relationships and don't trust anyone, but there are reasons for that. For one thing, every person I've ever cared about has let me down. The only recent exception: O'Leary's town veterinarian...my new best friend.

I came to O'Leary for a fresh start. To pare things down to essentials. To forget about the failures in my past. The last thing I need is complications, and most definitely not a boyfriend.

Julian: I've lived in O'Leary my entire life and learned to fly under the radar a long time ago. I do what's expected, say what's expected, and keep to myself as much as possible. It's a hell of a lot simpler spending my time working with animals than trying to interact with actual people. The one unlikely exception: the gorgeous guy who moved to a cabin just outside of town and somehow became my best friend.

But friendships are complicated, and one morning I find myself accidentally telling the whole town the biggest lie of my life. Which is how Daniel Michaelson, my very straight, very hot best friend becomes my fake boyfriend, even though he's most definitely not my lover.

Funny and sweet

This is only the second of May Archer’s books I have read and it is equally as funny and sweet as the first.

Never Disappointed!

As usual, May Archer doesn’t disappoint.
Absolutely loved the main characters, and as I have listened to the previous audiobook, ‘The Fall’, characters from that novel are cameo’d in this book.
The storyline is fluid and mixed, and from working out who J D Pritchard was from the the very first hint, it gets the reader pumped throughout the book as to when ‘the penny will drop’ with Julian!! 🤦‍♂️😱😁😊

Overall it’s a 10/10 for me, ticks all the boxes and definitely steamy 🧖‍♂️ in all the right places (scorching hot🥵 - definitely NOT for young adult readers - so beware)
Definitely not disappointed, in fact, exhilarated!

Perfection

I loved this book. The characters were great and were magnificently brought to life by perfect narration. I was totally in their heads. Lots of laughing out loud in the garden that my neighbours must think I’m mad. And a marvellous surprise in this HEA had me sobbing with joy.

It's good !

It's good, well written, great characters too. I really like both narrators separately but I didn't think they paired well here. Even with that said, I enjoyed this and I will always give May Archer books a try. She's brilliant, also if you haven't tried the books she does with Lucy Lennox, you should!

Freakin love it

What can I say, I absolutely love this series.
Honestly, every time I hear it, makes me wanna move to O'leary, but since I'm not a hot gay dude and all the straight guys are either killers, drunks, assholes, or dead... I'm not sure I would have a happy ending there. Damn it!!!!
The characters are great, their chemistry, the way they start their romance, and how everything feels easy and 100% not forced just to make the story work.

I love Iggy and Alex. Their voices are sexy as hell, and I love how they give an extra to this story.

Perfect

Wonderful story, likeable characters & as ever brilliantly brought to live by the narrators, although I think Alexander Cendese could read me the bible & make it sound awesome. 🤩
