About this listen
Mma Ramotswe has a deft hand in delicate cases, and never allows an act of injustice to pass unanswered. So, when it comes to her attention that a matter involving dubious motives has arisen, and that it will require the utmost discretion to resolve, she has no choice but to lend her skills in the arts of detection and reconciliation. She is, after all, head of Botswana’s premier detective agency, but that doesn’t mean she can’t use the help of Mma Makutsi and Mma Potokwane. Meanwhile, Mr J.L.B. Matekoni has found himself in complicated circumstances of his own, requiring not a little of Mma Ramotswe’s time and expertise.
In the end, as each of these predicaments comes untangled, Mma Ramotswe draws on her goodwill and generosity to bring important truths to light – of friendship, honesty and love.

another wonderful installment with the no 1 ladies
I always love these cosy, wonderful tales. this time I did miss the balance brought by Mma Ramotswe to Mma Makutsi's Violet obsession though. I prefer the ladies working together and wouldn't really want to see them go their separate ways. hopefully I'm reading too much into that and we keep the magic.

They're as good as ever.
I don't know how Alexander McCall Smithamages to produce so many books a year in various series - one is tempted to believe he must keep a roomful of writers doing a grand job of imitating the style and keeping the leitmotifs going - at least 97% of them - but I hope he carries on for many years yet.
As far as Adjoah Andoh's reading is concerned,I am not surprised to see some people being critical about it. I get it. I didn't like what she said about the verandah either, but saying that her reading of these books and the wonderful characterisations she has made and delivers flawlessly every time are not brilliant means that you just got too much bias. Let her have her opinion, she may not like us much but I am going to love her anyway and enjoy her spectacular talent anyway. Have the integrity not to let your upset spoil your artistic judgement.
Maybe it's a flaw of mine to address existing reviews I disagree with in my own reviews but hopefully the mods will agree that it helps get a balanced view when someone else has said something which is patently ridiculous and which might stop other listeners from trying something they would definitely enjoy.

TERRIBLE VOICE
The voice of the reader is terrible and spoils everything. If she would just use her own voice all the time it would be far better because her take on how the characters would sound is pathetic. She is no mimic.
