Summary
Once upon a time, people called me the holiday queen. But catching my husband under the Christmas tree with another woman kind of did something to me. Like make me digitally crop him out of all our wedding photos and post them online. Who knew that post would go viral? Thanks to all the requests I received to do the same for other jilted partners, I started a new business called the Holiday Ex-Files. And I couldn’t be happier. Well...at least I’m not unhappy.
Then along comes my ex-husband’s best friend, Noah Cullen. Yep, like the vampires. He’s extremely gorgeous like them, too. He has a plan to help me believe in the magic of holidays again. But the more I’m around him, the more I begin to think he’s the magical one, and that perhaps I picked the wrong best friend to begin with. Maybe, just maybe, it will be a very merry Christmas after all.
Get ready for a laugh-out-loud, heartwarming holiday rom-com, perfect for any season, by USA Today best-selling author Jennifer Peel.

4.5 stars - entertaining, though more of a dramedy
Cami is divorced from her psychologically abusive, unfaithful ex-husband, but she's still something of a basket case. Accept upfront that this character needs a good therapist but is going to get the main of it from her prospective love interest - and a bit from supportive parents as well - instead. (It's true people were overcoming trauma before there were psychologists & counsellors, so it's not impossible, but it's difficult not to think she might have bounced back a little faster & without manufacturing a split ID) If you can let that go, it's an enjoyable ride.
Cami's aggressively single now and has lost her enthusiasm for life. Noah was her ex's best friend, but now he'd rather be hers. He wants to help her pick up the pieces and find healing. With him. She's a little frustratingly obtuse, though it has to be acknowledged that her self esteem really is subterra at this point.
The idea of Noah helping Cami work through her holiday phobias with exposure therapy is a fun one. And the secondary characters were entertaining. I particularly loved the dogs who were rather like their owners. Noah can't heal Cami, but he motivates her to finally want to find healing and provides her with incredible support. It's a touching story of love as self donation.
All in all, a sweet cuppa happy!
