About this listen
Some lies are safer in the dark.
After months of working with the MTA in search of her captured best friend, Ella Kepler stumbles upon a secret that predates everything she understood about Kara’s kidnapping - including her own past. Armed with a truth that could either destroy or save lives, Ella works alongside a group of metahumans determined to battle injustice and bring every lie to an end. As Ella’s involvement thickens, she’s forced to realize that lies have consequences, enemies wear two faces, and even memories can’t be trusted.
EVOLVED PUBLISHING PRESENTS the second book in the Whitewashed trilogy, following Ella as she finds her place in the world of metahumans and Grifters, a world too hungry to let one girl escape.

Thoroughly enjoyable
If you thought Ella Kepler had trust issues at the beginning then buckle up as things are going to get much wilder. As the conspiracies get deeper and the paranoia becomes palpable several questions are answered but many new ones are asked. The intrigue generated at the start pales in comparison to the bombshells delivered throughout book 2.
Once again Becci Martin delivers crisp narration with no discernible breaks in delivery or dips in audio quality.
Overall book 2 builds extensively upon the bedrock of machinations set out in book 1 and is most definitely worth your time. Once I've finished the trilogy it'll certainly be interesting to listen to again to spot the various clues hidden throughout.
