Not what I expected, but a surprise.

Only being familiar with the Iron Giant film, I was taken aback at the story, particularly the second half. But the first half definitely got me hooked, along with the excellent narrator, I just wish the latter half didn't make me think a completely different story took over.

It gets pretty weird.

It starts whimsically odd, then builds more of a world around it. By the last story it's absolutely off its rocker, yet still with whimsy.

Suspenseful, sensory, wonderful!

What a fantastic short story. I absolutely loved it. The performance complimented the narrative so well. Each description, sight, smell and sound was a delight. Children 7+ would definitely enjoy this book.

short but sweet

I really enjoyed the story, the descriptions really come alive in your mind but I would have liked it to be longer. Maybe a collection of stories would be better value.

Took me back to my school days

I loved this audiobook for two stand out reasons, firstly it took me back to listening to it for the first time in English class, where each of us would read a paragraph aloud and it was gripping. It was even more spell-bounding today because the narrator was the author himself. There is something so special hearing a book aloud from the author. It feels like you are really hearing the characters voices.

A children’s book by Ted Hughes! It is not ‘Crow’ is it!

Great to hear the Author’s real voice. It adds considerable depth to the reading. I highly recommended this audio book.
