About this listen
Written specifically for younger readers, J. Edwards Holt's The Jealous Little Ogre is a children's story that teaches the value of appreciating the ones we love.
The Jealous Little Ogre tells the story of a young ogre who lives happily in the forest with his mother and father. When a new family member comes along that could potentially replace him, he begins to have feelings of jealousy and anger. When he realizes he is being selfish, Little Ogre goes to a talking horse, who gives him guidance on how to deal with his negative feelings.

We chose this little story because my niece loves Shrek and was due to become a big sister, the overall message in this short tale is about learning to love a sibling and it was very adorable. We listened to it at bed time and had a good chat about her wee worries about having a little brother etc.
the narration was great and I do recommend this story for parents who need to have the 'you are about about be the older sibling' chat with their younger children.
lovely little story
