Summary
The key to getting kids to understand science isn't to dumb it down...it's to make it fun and relatable. Read on to discover the secret.
Science - and chemistry in particular - is the key to understanding the world, and it’s every bit as important as learning to read and balance numbers. Can your kids honestly say that they enjoy science lessons? The chances are, science lessons aren’t their favorite part of school life. So how can you engage your kids and help them understand the world better? The answer is simple: by making it fun.
The Joy of Chemistry explains the fundamental building blocks of all the sciences to your kids in a truly relatable and engaging way. They’ll discover:
- How particles are like people - and how understanding their characteristics, goals, and relationships is the key to understanding the world
- Vivid, relatable analogies that kids will get the first time around
- The logic behind the periodic table of elements (and how it helps you to understand it)
- The fascinating movement and behavior patterns of particles - and how they affect the world
- The ‘royalty of elements’ - because if there’s one thing that kids understand, it’s how hierarchies work
- Essential lab room safety explained and demystified
- Key terminology defined and explained in kid-friendly language (without dumbing down)
- Bonus knowledge-check section at the end of every chapter to consolidate your child’s understanding
- And much more.

Brilliant!
Having never learnt anything about chemistry in school, I struggled with courses that mention things like protons, ions, etc.
Thanks to this book the basis is finally there for me to move on and study subjects that include atoms, etc. I'm a very happy student!

I hate Chemistry but Needs Must
OK, big heads up. Since I wouldn't say I liked Chemistry at school, I dreaded sharing this with my friends' kids.
There was no need for me to worry at all!
It was a lot of fun, and the kids learned a lot. The job of teaching kids science is hard enough, let alone getting them to enjoy it!
Their love for it and the knowledge they gained from it bridged the gap between the two—an excellent book. A benefit of it is that I can put it on for them again—both win.
Excellent value.
It is a great audiobook aimed at explaining and entertainingly learning chemistry. The book makes it easy for children to grasp chemistry's basics.
It is a keeper! I may love Chemistry after this!

A brilliant guide for beginners
Chemistry was my Achilles heel during high school. I always felt overwhelmed by the particles and atoms' stuff and their reactions. This audiobook is well-organized so that children learn the basic knowledge from scratch. It used great analogies to show the basic functions of chemistry so kids can digest easily. Worth listening!

Brilliant!
The kids loved it and learnt alot. It's a difficult job getting kids to learn science let alone enjoy it! This book bridged the gap, they loved it and have learnt a fair bit. Really really good audiobook. Also, the beauty of it is that I can just put it on for them again. Win/Win. Bargain for how much it cost

Informative and Easy to Follow!
As a teacher, I found this helpful in helping children to understand science lessons. It engages well and gives an explanation that helps to understand the world around us in a fun way. It provides a clear analogy with key terminology in a simple easy to get manner and the understanding of the periodic table was most helpful.

Great book!
I got this book for my daughters who are not too keen on chemistry lessons in school.
This book is really well thought out and the way it's presented is very appealing to children.
The author has presented the basics of chemistry, talking about the particles as if they are people and then charting their behaviours.
My favourite chapter was, what is the ultimate goal of 3ach itom? really interesting.
Brilliant book every school child should listen to.
