About this listen
Living clean and sober comes with joy that far surpasses any high from drugs. To live clean is to have a clean mind, ready to see and appreciate the beauty in life. Getting sober and staying sober takes strategy and requires you to develop new ways of thinking. This audiobook will guide you through the process and help you to change the way you view alcohol and other addictive drugs. It will help you to move past the cravings for alcohol and lead you to the real pleasures that come from living clean and sober.
Those who stay sober will come to realize that they were not doing drugs to get high—they were doing them to get straight and to not be sick. They were only trying to get normal. Living clean and sober means living without hangovers, the daily symptoms of withdrawal, the anxiety of running out of your substance, or lying to doctors so you can get pills. Living clean and sober means actually doing things that make you happy, things that are truly fulfilling and satisfying, things that bring real joy—the kind of joy that you know in your mind and feel in your chest. You want it, you can have it, and you will experience it daily thanks to The Joy of Living Clean and Sober.

Weekly inspiration
Listen straight through all at once if that's your style, but it's not a traditional book in that sense. I like to use Paul's experience and tips as motivational pick-me-ups while I exercise. By selectively playing a couple chapters I can zero-in on what I need help with that day/week. This book is on my short-list of sober lit. Knowing Paul's inspirational back-story also helps complete the context, so I also recommend his podcast Offshore Sailing and Cruising with Paul Trammell. I've followed him for years and read almost all his books.
